Swahili originated in Tanzanian coast and spread on northern region of Tanzania 🇹🇿 to Mombasa (Kenya 🇰🇪) and southern region of Tanzania to Mozambique 🇲🇿 by business men and traders... Later it went and spread to every neighbor of Tanzania, thus every neighbor from Kenya 🇰🇪, Uganda 🇺🇬, Rwanda 🇷🇼, Burundi 🇧🇮, Eastern Congo 🇨🇩, northern Zambia 🇿🇲, northern Malawi 🇲🇼, Mozambique 🇲🇿, and Comoro island can all speak Swahili... But Kenya's neighbors Ethiopia 🇪🇹, South Sudan 🇸🇸, Somalia 🇸🇴 can't speak Swahili because Kenyans didn't create or spread Swahili words to other neighbors... Also after gaining independence, Tanzania 🇹🇿 immediately officialized Swahili as a national and official language of the nation while Kenya 🇰🇪 after gaining independence officialized English as their national and official language, but later Kenya 🇰🇪 added Swahili as their national language but not official language. Swahili is spoken fluently in Tanzania 🇹🇿 than any African country, Kenya use Swahili as their second language after English, while the rest countries use Swahili as their third language
Im liking the words ... The picture s do help just wish they were more reflective to culture but.... It works... Many words we use in our Sea Island Creole .... Trying to get .ore fluently to speak with my PanAfrikan Family
A lot of these Arabic words such as shikamoo, marahaba etc. were added to the Kiswahili spoken in Zanzibar during those years when the Sultans ruled that island. They were originally slang but have come to common use, especially in Tanzania but not in other regions where Kiswahili is spoken such as Kenya, Uganda and the DRC where cultural context of words may be lacking entirely. I would prefer the Lingua Franca Kiswahili uses less of these words and sticks more to the proto-Kiswahili Kiswahili words or Kingozi as spoken by the original twelve tribes along the East African coast.

This seems like KENYAN swahili. Because he has some disfluencies. He calls a doctor dactari instead of mganga. Also fails to explain the context of the use of Shkamoo, which is usually a greeting from a younger person to an older person. Like a child wold say Shkamoo to parent and the parent would respond by saying marahabaa.
Ok so I have to learn Swahili all over again cause I can’t understand so many expressions in here!? Which Swahili is this? OH and Shukran??? That’s thank you in Arabic.
