I have never understood why this wasn't playing everywhere all the time when it came out. It's crazy that because it's "acapella" the mainstream music world reject them out of hand. My other two favorite originals (I love them all really) are Run to You and Can't Sleep Love
"Come Along". It's a cover of a song by Cosmo Sheldrake which is right properly odd to begin with. They made it my personal 'night out' anthem when I'm getting ready to head to the Village for a proper night on the town here in NYC. Just like "Love Again" it's another "unlike anything else they've ever done", and in it you can hear what decades of working together and growing as a group has done for their ever-evolving sound. They've already pushed past it, but you can hear where a kind of higher, industry veteran vibe has entered into play starting with Come Along. And suddenly their solo career work and recent stuff tracks. They've levelled up from Master to Doctor level, and school is finally in session, so 'Come Along'.

It is a PTX original! This is my favourite PTX original song. It's stunning, isn't it?! I love the Steampunk/alien vibe. Kevin's beatboxing is absolutely insane on this one! They are so hugely, criminally under-rated for their original songs - they should be getting to no 1 with them. I actually like this song better than the Daft Punk songs, although their medley is amazing. Are you going to see them in London in May? I am soooo excited for their live show! I would definitely recommend 'Sing' which is another original and is a total bop. It has lots of their TH-cam and famous friends in it as well as their fans. For something more sombre but totally beautiful try Run to you or if you watch their Popspring live concert that has a couple of their originals, Can't sleep love and Water in it as well as their Michael Jackson evolution medley. Also - some more Superfruit please! For a real 'Mitch rap slap' try 'Feeling myself'. I think you would love Hip hop goes Broadway 1 and 2 as well. Just looked through your playlist and don't see the Popspring 2016 concert. You MUST see that one! First, it is one of their best live performances imo and is professionally recorded so you don't have to deal with poor recording quality. Second, they do 3 of their originals along with their MJ evolution. It's about 15 minutes long, but your PTX fans love it so don't worry about it being too long. Next, I noticed you've not seen the documentary of the Making of Evergreen, their 2021 Christmas album. It's an amazing view of how they create and work together. I know you'll be amazed. OMG I didn't realize how much I missed you reacting to Pentatonix until this video!!!!! This is my first time hearing of them, so was not sure what to expect from them. It is truly a breathe of fresh air and amazing talent. The video with the camera shots are amazing as well as their singing. Very catchy and a bop of a song! 🎶
So glad you listened to this and hope you decide to listen to more of their work. They have some 200+ songs including a whole whack of Christmas songs....they have 6 or 7 Christmas albums. The rest are a mix of originals and covers....which their fans consider upgrades, not simply covers. Choose whatever intrigues you and try it out. Personally I don't think there's a bad song in the bunch.

One of their earliest originals and a favorite of mine! You know, in some ways they have "improved" over time. Their confidence, their vocal control, their musicality...all that stuff, has gotten even greater. That being said, they never needed improving, lol. The early stuff boggles the mind, and always will. It doesn't age! When Mitch & Scott reacted to their Sing Off performances on their Superfruit chanel, even they were like, "you know, that sounds pretty good." "Love Again" kicks all the ass. I love your Sense 8 comparison. I truly believe that those three kids showing up in the same school at the same time and starting to sing together was cosmic intervention. Finding Avi and Kevin just in time to compete on the Sing Off was cosmic intervention. Finding Matt to replace Avi at just the right time was cosmic intervention. Popspring and all their 'evolution of' are great earlier examples of live stuff. While you're at it, Superfruit has some evolution of and medleys that are epic, too.
Yes, finally!!! More PTX originals: Can't Sleep Love, Sing, Coffee In Bed, Be My Eyes, Happy Now. Also try their Perfume Medley--it's short but delightful. About the facial expressions, I think it's because most of them have a background in singing on a stage: the trio and Matt were into theatre, and Avi studied opera. So they're cognizant of the way they look while singing.

Their 2019 Popspring performance is great (like others have said) 3 other originals and the Evolution of Michael Jackson. Run to You is much different slower and just glorious 5 part harmony!

Great reaction! I agree, this is one of their best ever! I can just imagine being in a club dancing to this, and when Avi does that bass drop - everyone goes nuts! I am completely certain that ONLY Pentatonix could successfully make an acapella EDM track. And I can attest this will randomly play in your head for the rest of your life. And you won't be mad about it. If you ever have something you need to do and would normally drag about, put this on your headphones and before you know it you'll be done and be looking for more stuff to do. I can listen to this on repeat for hours and hours and never get bored. And, yes, we all love how much fun they have performing. The makeup was for a specific asthetic. This original they did shortly after Daft Punk became so huge, and it breaks my heart that more people don't know about and love it. I think this is one of the best things that PTX ever did. I can't understand why it was never a bigger hit. Yes, it's an original. 'Sing' and 'Run to You' are also must-hear originals as is the always overlooked 'Standing By' You asked how they found out they could sing like that (when you heard Avi's first bass drop). In his case it happened during the school holidays - he finished one term a baritone and started the next term as a bass! Please get back to reacting to his solo work. I totally get your reaction because it's also been mine so often. Everything they touch, be it a cover or original, turns to gold. And as you said, it's not just their fantastic voices but their videos are amazing as well. I've only known about Pentatonix for a couple of years now--thanks to You Tube--and they've become my favorite group. I was so fortunate to get to see them in concert for the first time last week in Singapore. I highly recommend you see them live if you can to experience yet another facet--their stage presence. It is! In fact they only got together the day before the audition. Their opening performance was the first time they had ever performed live. So basically, they won the Sing Off without ever having performed anywhere else ever. It's mind-boggling
They don't perform music, they become the music. They don't just act happy or sad depending on the song, they truly feel the emotion behind the lyrics and take us on the ride with them. I don't remember if you have done the video of Aha, not the live version (which is awesome), the video was fun. The video for Prayers for this World hits you right in the heart. The Superfruit with Kirsty doing The Frozen Medley is hysterical, also Superfruit's "Hip Hop Goes Broadway, Scott and Mitch crack me up. Can't wait for more of your reactions. You are NOT overreacting, I have seen some "reactors" that don't even watch the video which is part of the impact. Some sing along when they can't sing, and I am not here to listen to them, lol There are a couple that stand up and dance around the room looking into their camera. a beautiful original from their 2nd original album the lucky ones is called anchor, a mitch lead so you can only imagine how good it is, it has no video, only an audio only visualizer but its very worth it

One of their earliest originals and a favorite of mine! You know, in some ways they have "improved" over time. Their confidence, their vocal control, their musicality...all that stuff, has gotten even greater. That being said, they never needed improving, lol. The early stuff boggles the mind, and always will. It doesn't age! When Mitch & Scott reacted to their Sing Off performances on their Superfruit chanel, even they were like, "you know, that sounds pretty good." "Love Again" kicks all the ass. I love your Sense 8 comparison. I truly believe that those three kids showing up in the same school at the same time and starting to sing together was cosmic intervention. PTX have like almost 300 songs on their catalog so it's gonna take you a while lol. You really need to react to more of their original stuff cause it's fantastic, they have 2 original albums, a first one self-titled as Pentatonix and their latest one released in 2021, The Lucky Ones. Fun originals songs are Happy Now, Love me when I don't, Sing, Can't Sleep Love and Be My Eyes.
Popspring and all their 'evolution of' are great earlier examples of live stuff.
While you're at it, Superfruit has some evolution of and medleys that are epic, too.

About the facial expressions, I think it's because most of them have a background in singing on a stage: the trio and Matt were into theatre, and Avi studied opera. So they're cognizant of the way they look while singing.

I am completely certain that ONLY Pentatonix could successfully make an acapella EDM track. And I can attest this will randomly play in your head for the rest of your life. And you won't be mad about it. If you ever have something you need to do and would normally drag about, put this on your headphones and before you know it you'll be done and be looking for more stuff to do. I can listen to this on repeat for hours and hours and never get bored. And, yes, we all love how much fun they have performing. The makeup was for a specific asthetic. This original they did shortly after Daft Punk became so huge, and it breaks my heart that more people don't know about and love it.

PTX originals just don't get enough recognition or air play. Remember too that this is A Capella. I think this is one of the best things that PTX ever did. I can't understand why it was never a bigger hit. Yes, it's an original. 'Sing' and 'Run to You' are also must-hear originals as is the always overlooked 'Standing By' You asked how they found out they could sing like that (when you heard Avi's first bass drop). In his case it happened during the school holidays - he finished one term a baritone and started the next term as a bass! Please get back to reacting to his solo work. I totally get your reaction because it's also been mine so often. Everything they touch, be it a cover or original, turns to gold. And as you said, it's not just their fantastic voices but their videos are amazing as well. I've only known about Pentatonix for a couple of years now--thanks to You Tube--and they've become my favorite group. I was so fortunate to get to see them in concert for the first time last week in Singapore. I highly recommend you see them live if you can to experience yet another facet--their stage presence. You'll love it!
But you REALLY need to take the Sing Off journey to see how amazing they were to start off with and just become this kickass group of insanely talented vocalists. The fact that the original five performed together FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER one day before their audition is mind boggling

They don't perform music, they become the music. They don't just act happy or sad depending on the song, they truly feel the emotion behind the lyrics and take us on the ride with them. I don't remember if you have done the video of Aha, not the live version (which is awesome), the video was fun. The video for Prayers for this World hits you right in the heart. The Superfruit with Kirsty doing The Frozen Medley is hysterical, also Superfruit's "Hip Hop Goes Broadway, Scott and Mitch crack me up. Can't wait for more of your reactions. You are NOT overreacting, I have seen some "reactors" that don't even watch the video which is part of the impact. Some sing along when they can't sing, and I am not here to listen to them, lol There are a couple that stand up and dance around the room looking into their camera. Apologies if you have done these and I just missed them.

When you learn the story/history of the “Trio” and how they met and grew up together, then recruited Avi and Kevin…it blows your mind! And just think, you’ve “only” covered 35 of their videos! If I understand correctly, this was done just after "Somebody That I Used to Know" and that was the first viral video they did after being dropped from Sony and moving en masse to LA after they won the Sing Off. You are 💯% accurate and totally within your rights to point out their expressions. They know how to be so seductive with the camera and their pure joy and talent beams out of them. We can’t help but see and feel it, even a blind person can “see their grins” thru their music. The best part is that it is even stronger in person (I’ve heard) when they don’t have the luxury of retakes, not that they ever do much editing. It’s almost unfair how incredible they are.
