It's called the rookie. I'll be the paragraph guy. So nyla is at the bank with another cop guy and she tells him to describe the trio of guys there to rob the bank. She tells him to say GROUT (Gender, Race, Over, Under, Task) So she tells him to go outside and she goes back to tell an employee that works there to hit the silent alarm button and she hesitates at first but then the suspect in the lobby line ( he's a serial bank rober) pulls and gun and yells this is a bank robbery everyone gets down the she tells the lady employee to hit the silent alarm and she hits it.
Fun fact: they actually tell bank tellers to give them the money and not to hit the alarm until they leave because the last thing they want is for the robber to see the cops outside and turn the situation into a hostage situation. She completely botches this.
I was robbed at a bank. The gun/yelling thing is rare. We were trained that most robberies happen in less than 47 seconds, and that if you had someone working next to you, it will be so quiet that they wouldn't notice. Sounding the silent alarm before or even during the robbery may cause a hostage situation. The money is insured. Give them the money and be done with it. Unless you have security at the bank, just give them the money.
Yup. Worked retail in college and had someone come in, pull a knife and lunge across the counter at me while demanding all the cash from the till. (Boss watching the surveillance footage the next morning wanted to know how deeply I'd been stabbed levels of close call.) You hand them everything, do everything they say to, and let them leave without trying to do shit. In my case I got a, "Sorry, I'm not a bad guy, I just need to feed my kid." And then he made me shake his hand before running out.
Yes! Seriously this is my biggest annoyance whenever they make shows about a bank robbery, and for it to have a cop be the one to say hit the alarm is just so dumb.
@Thaxannadrote situations like this are so sad. My old neighbor had a daughter that was married and had three girls of her own, the daughter and her husband robbed a gas station because they were in a tough place financially and in the end the father never made it out alive The mother served some jail time but I believe she's back out now since it was ruled that the whole thing wasn't her idea, however she lost custody of her daughters who are now being raised by my old neighbor, the whole situation is so sad
That reminds me of the story on Tumblr about a bank teller getting a note saying to put money in an envelope or something and she goes "oh wait, we don't do that here" because she misread it and thought he was just trying to make a withdrawal and asking for an envelope. So the dude just got super confused and left

They have banks like this in america but its not common for all banks but then again they dont carry infinite money either. You might get a few thousand before police show up
It’s ok. It’s kind of silly. It depicts being a police officer as a straight up action hero lmao. When in reality, I know cops where I live in Boston (which is a big city) who have never discharged their firearm once in the line of duty. I know I know I know. It’s a show meant for entertainment. That doesn’t mean I don’t roll my eyes sometimes at the insane shit they get into. If you want to see a very realistic depiction of police work, check out that show “The Wire”. It’s a crime drama set Baltimore about drug kingpins and the homicide detectives that investigate them. But it’s been hailed as one of the most realistic depictions of criminals investigations on television (the show was made by an ex murder investigator).
a friend of mine works as a manager in a bank and it was robbed a few weeks ago. Her teller came to her and told her the guy he was waiting on handed him a note that said the guy had a gun, and the teller asked her what he should do. She said give him the extra cash (apparently they have cash put aside for robberies). I asked her if she hit the alarm and she said no, they don't do that till the perp is out of the building so there's no chance of violence. So yeah, I don't think this is very realistic. Oh and the guy was caught because he had no mask or anything on and they identified him right away because earlier that day he had robbed a Dunkin' Donuts and left his ID. He clearly wasn't very bright.
In this situation the silent alarm while they were there would be a safe choice because a) there's already a cop on scene who needs backup and b) she knew the man and his methods, there would be violence either way, at least with the alarm there would be more police on the way.
The criminals that act out of need and desperation are usually the ones that make the stupid mistakes and get caught quickly. The "career" criminals that are more calculated and experienced usually take more precautions.

Why did she not just exit the bank and call the police
Why wouldn't they just immediately call for backup???
She's not in uniform and doesn't have a radio. She's already asked for the alarm to be pressed.
@@LovinglfDesigns she has a phone. Could have called 911 or any of the other cops she knows
@@FSChorchand alert the three people there robbing the bank. She knows two but she has no idea who the third is.
Silent alarm from a bank calls in swat and FBI. Federal banks and all authorities are alerted thus a silent alarm doesn’t alert the robbers.
The silent alarm is the back up
She is beautiful, love the hair cut, and a great detective. I should look so good.
I love how this show is so realistic except for 1 thing
wow, she saved those billionairse from the bad people!
Wow strong black woman😮
I wouldve accused the two people talking instantly👨🏿🌾
Such a good show
what movie and season is this
Series is The Rookie, season 5 episode 10
The third crew is definitely the man he's talking to
If you mean *she, then nope, if I'm remembering right that's just her husband 🤔
LOVE this tv series... cant wait for next season...
Name of the movie?
The show is called the Rookie
What's the name pls
I love Mekia Cox in this role she's good
I like him for the most part it's just that whenever she has to go into cop mode, he always questions her and tries to say she's overthinking, and she is always right.
of course SHE is always right.
Knew an officer who once told me that I was better off not knowing who was shopping with me at Walmart.
Modern audiences, everyone 😅
How much yall wanna bet that the dude she's talking to is the third guy
No lol that he husband
Damn, I'm going to have to start recording this show.
What’s the name of the movie please? And what episode is this?
Great hair what a beautiful black woman
Why not just say, "what a beautiful woman?"
Because she's black@@dhy5342
If he’s been identified as a bank robber, how has he not been arrested already?! Like once the police know your identity your screwed, right?
He’s probably already served time and gotten out
Only when they do eventually catch up with you. Ask Ms Parker and Mr Barrow how that turned out for them!
Can't help but notice the agenda
If you watched the show you wouldn't be making this ignorant comment.
@@shan0997 I agree, but who cares
It’s always the same .. white : bad - black : good
What makes this worse is how many times she had to explain robbery 😂 Hit the alarm!!!!
I am detective something something and instead of arresting said serial bank robber, my plan is to apparently let them carry on whilst i sit and judge their clothing choices and you push that silent alarm to get other officers here to deal with it, cause im like tired or bored or something, either way i just wanna have a sit down ❤ thanks
Because she saw or knew the guy always carries guns and doesn't work alone, but she didn't know who else is a robber
He's a serial bank robber. So just a bank robber then.
