You seemed so put out about the heat transfer approach. Given you difficulties with it I can see why though, that looked aggravating to sort out and you have more patience than I do. That knife, by the way, looks like you should be calling it a machete. Still, the results of your cuts made me think of when I attempt to cut cheese so don't worry about it. It's not like you're selling it, right? I'm glad that it still came together for you, in the end and I hope you have a wonderful new year! I wish you luck on your farming endeavor my friend.
Good for you Shonna, I like the soap and I like the name of your channel. I look forward to watching you as you learn. I didn't love learning new things at first but now that I have tried so many things, I'm glad I learned. Canning is amazing when you grow your own food. Making our own medicines keeps us healthy and out of the Dr. office. I know you will be great at what ever you sent your hands to.
hello Shona, it's so good to see you creating again. i've had hard coconut oil this winter as well. The Soaps look great i can't cut straight to save myself. I'm cheering for you in your homesteading adventure.i love hearing about your new channel Have a blessed new year!
So glad to see you back making soap. It reminded me how dependent we are on readily available heat and electricity. I live on a farm (grew up rural, moved urban, worked in the city, moved suburban now full circle to a small farm) enjoy your adventures.
Congratulations on your new home (again :)! And Happy New Year! It's nice to see you back on here & making soap xoxox Have a great day & see you next time :)
Happy New Year! Some great channels to watch are Rain Country, Sutton's Daze & The Purposeful Pantry. These ladies cover all of those areas of canning, making vinegar, dehydrating. As for gardening, The Gardening Channel with James Prigioni is awesome.
Undaunted by the disorder and deprivation that engulf her, she braves the frigid kitchen and cuts her soap with her mighty sword! Only people who have moved without a moving company can truly appreciate how impressive this is.
Hi, Shonna and welcome back. Congrats on the new house/farm as well. I look forward to seeing what you have here AND what you have on your new homesteading channel.
I was never a fan of the heat transfer method bc i could never do it right. I am not a homesteader, but I do a lot of canning, fermenting, food storage, etc if you need tips!
It turned out quite nice. I prefer to make hot process but I have switched over to cold process recently. My first batch in the end of October is still curing, my scale was way off but I didn't realize it until I went to measure my water and lye so I adjusted it and ended up with not enough lye for all the butters and oils.... It's the creamiest I've ever made 😂 Happy New Year and I wish you the best with your new endeavor. ❤
Hi Shonna, I used to be addicted to soap but I'm clean now. Lots of luck in your little farmhouse on the prairie. 🎇Happy 2024! Greetings from Rotterdam👍
your soap looks so lovely! also, new channel?!?!? i'm excited! my advice: when you make bread, measure your ingredients by weight, not volume. you'll get lighter, fluffier bread that way.
So happy to see you making soap!! Hope you and your family have the best of a new year!🎉❤
Thank you very much, Dee ❤️ Happy New Year!

Next time, just water bath your hard oils to melt them. You struggle so much to get things smooth. So glad your back! Love your house!
That's good advice, thank you! Happy New Year
