  • Finally it is time to take a look at the SYM Joyride 300 16". A scooter based on the SYM HD300 but with a few very important and not at all small changes that give it some very interesting characteristics like the flat floor platform.

    I am 189 cm and have this bike and the legs sit a bit awkward but nothing that you can’t get used to. Overall satisfied with the bike!

    Nobody rides, explains or takes the time to show a product like you do! You do it consistently time & time again, (example: showing the center section of the Joyride, seating, leg height, etc., versus the other Sym 300’s). You are absolutely the best in salesmanship for building long lasting relationships for any potential new or old customers, I’d buy from you in a minute!
    The interesting part for me as a rider enthusiast viewer is your enthusiasm when you ride and hearing your joy to be riding on your videos! Wishing you the very best, carry on. Rola (Oregon / USA).

      Thank you, and a funny observation, at my workplace my position is to handle spare parts, I'm not a salesman, although people coming into the showroom that have seen my videos request to talk to me before purchasing. I'm just happy to help and at the end of the day "I like bike!" 😂

    I had an Aprillia 200 Scarabeo with the same frame shape and I came to love it as a city machine. I could put a fully packed backpack between my legs. With that space and the space under seat, I could get groceries for a week with it. Still wish I had that bike. It had a Rotax motor that punched way above the 200 class for power.

    This scooter has similar design and layout as my 20 years old Kymco grand Dink 250 but the Kymco is with terrible 12" wheels. I am looking forward to retired it soon.

    Another very awesome video! Remember you and I had a conversation about this scooter in the comments of a previous video in which you advised me you were trying to get your hands on one.Well done! I love the Joyride! I have to sit on it again in the showroom here in Chios, Greece to get a better idea of how comfortable I would be on it. Also, the Daytona Virtus 300 is now out and I hear it is a pretty nice machine. One thing that makes it stick out is the heater grips it comes with. Then again, I can always have heated grips installed as you did on "Donnie." Right now given the choice of having either my 125cc ST for my everyday do this and do that bike and having the NHT 300 as a touring bike or having just one bike, i.e. the HD300 or the JOYRIDE 300 or the Virtus 300, I would rather have one bike. I have to look at your HD300 video again. The price of the HD 300, 4,795 euros, with the top box with the same key, the storage underneath and everything else that you get is a a great price. The I have not seen the virtus yet. I am waiting for it to arrive this week. Right now of the three new scooters the HD300 is winning because of all the above reasons and many others. Besides, the storage space and the top box with the same key makes it rock with the amount of storage. This way it makes up for the lack of a flat floor. Anyway, sorry I am rambling! I should really get a job with SYM. I think I am liking this too much, LOL! By the way for a 125cc the ST 125cc L/C with its 13 ponies, gets up and goes! Take care and be safe!

    • @RideWithAlex
      @RideWithAlex  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you want to mix city and touring the HD is a great option, between the ones you have on your list I would also go for the HD if I were to have only one.

    • @alexandrosmp1
      @alexandrosmp1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RideWithAlex Very true. Of all that I have had on the list, the most logical choice is the HD. Lets see how it pans out. I may come up with something out of left field which may surprise everyone. I may just do a video when I do make the choice, discussing the reasons for my choice and how you and your videos were instrumental, along with my local dealer, in that choice. I will put that video on another one of my channels and share it. I pay close attention to your videos and I will review them again. When I bought my first scooter, the sym symphony sr it took me 4 months of research and videos to make a decision. The end of June will be the four month mark for this one lol. I like brutus and I like "Donnie, " but somehow I see you in a Maxsym 400 TCS dark mat grey and with only one bike. One thing though, I am sure you know the 400 is 6,395. You best know your budget. I am just sharing a thought. My budget stops at 4,800 with the ST as a trade-in or if I had the NHT 300 as an additional bike it would bt at around 3700 without a trade. Thanks, again Alex.

    • @RideWithAlex
      @RideWithAlex  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@alexandrosmp1 I absolutely adore the maxsym 400 but it's very hard for me to reach the ground on it and for me that makes it difficult in traffic. If Sym would put the engine of the 400 în the cruisym then I think I would be in love and might just upgrade my scooter. But I'm also looking for a Yamaha TW200 and a Goldwing GL1500 so yeah, I like bike, and will try to grow my collection. Two is not enough for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Very good video and very good explanations and above all you can really feel the sound of the engine! I fear the problem with tall people (>= 1.80m). For my part, I am 1.80m tall and I ride a Kymco 125 Agility 16+ and when I have to sharply steer the handlebars during a maneuver I have to spread my leg outwards so as not to touch the handlebars with my knee. . You get used to it but it's sometimes annoying.

    Hi Alex. Jim again from Madrid, Spain (a New Yorker expat living abroad for love and a 40 year old biker).
    As I responded today to some if your other videos (the last one was a month old video from today) you are great.
    Why? Well... As I explained (even though this video is older) I have sold my 3 bikes due to health issues (Physically I can't ride normal bikes anymore) and I'm looking for a Bike (scooter) that will accommodate my needs at a decent price (I still have a mortgage + family + dog And my money is controlled by the needs of my family).
    But... Cars are also a problem for me due to.my situation (my spine is full of rods and screws and it's rigid and I have chronic pain for the rest of my life).
    Why is this pain in the ass guy explaining so much???
    Well... this bike is what I need. For 2 main reasons:
    1. It has a 300cc motor with enough power to take me anywhere safely, even on highways! Me and my companion (which may be my wife - though she doesn't like Bikes, go figure! -, my daughters, or my dog - YES... she loves riding with me and is my most common usual companion everywhere and anywhere).
    2. The most important reason!!! Since it does NOT have the mid section column in the middle... The FLAT floor is EXACTLY what I need for EASY access, that is, getting on and off the bike since my problem is with the bottom part of my body (I can't lift my legs up high anymore and my column can't bend, twist or turn in any way - it's rigid!).
    3. High wheels (within the scooter line up), which are WAY safer when riding at higher speeds (Highways) and twistees (mountain roads, etc.) while still maintaining their agility and maneuverability within the City.
    There are VERY FEW bikes like this nowadays (most manufacturers have all gone with the high mid section column as a standard for these types of scooters - GTs, etc.). A strong competitor (in my eyes) is the Kymco X-Town, for example, which is the other bike I'm looking at now.
    PRICE!!!! (Purchase + Maintenance + Parts availability, etc.) And Bike Service (access/availability to dealer shops and for mechanical maintenance during warranty here in Spain) are going to be the key decision factors.
    Again... GREAT HONEST VIDEO!
    Cheers from Sunny Spain!!!
    😁👍😎✌✌🏍🏍

    Forgot to ask you one more thing which is sometimes a problem for me...
    I'm 1.70 Meters tall and have medium size hands... Is access to the break handles too separated from the grip?
    I find that sometimes they are in many scooters and few scooters have adjustable break levers for size (Kymco X-Town has them) and to.me and many smaller people it is critical as a value add, instead of some other nice-to-have features because being able to BREAK comfortably (access to the lever wirh shorter hands) is a BASIC SAFETY measure and many manufacturers are misplacing costs on "modern" values that are not as important as other things, from a safety perspective (what good is a Bike if you can't access your brakes??!!).
    Hope you can let me know... since you work at SYM.
    I haven't been able to try it out yet... just got out of the Hospital a week ago again for other stuff that need to be done (you know... it's like when you take your car - not usually your bike because bikers tend to take much better care of their beasts than car owners)... once you go inside a Hospital for one little thing... you never know how you will come out because of everything else they'll find (or so they tell you)...
    🤣🤣🤣🤣
    Cheers from Sunny Spain!!!!
    😁👍😎✌✌🏍🏍

      The Joyride is oriented towards shorter people, 1.70 you should be very comfortable on it and reach the ground well. About the brake levers I have size M gloves and I have no problem with this scooter.
