The Last of Us PC Port is Atrocious

- I just finished streaming the Last of Us PC port last night, and it might be the worst port I’ve ever played.
You know something is wrong when it’s a week after release, and the sheer act of managing to complete the game is considered, in and of itself, a rare achievement.
Why do bad ports continue to plague PC players when the difference between optimized and unoptimized games is night and day?

thankfully it wasnt hard on me since...i meet the requirement chart run without any crashes in total
one thing noticed mouse feels awful so had to play in controller
Fastest refund ive ever made
I was able to run it and finish the game, there were some choppy areas and I think about 9 crashes in total. I had never played the game before and was really enjoying all the other aspects of it so I decided to just keep going with it. I will probably give it another try at some point, hopefully it is all fixed up by then.
Yeah I really want to try the DLC but I'll wait for a performance patch first. Even being able to run it, the excessive CPU usage (nearing 100% across multiple cores) for hours can be detrimental to your system if it overheats. It'd be great to be able to play the game again with High textures and proper performance, so keep an eye out for the patch that's supposed to drop today addressing these issues
I'm sorry the PC port is so damn awful. I really think it is one of the greatest games for console ever made.
There's supposed to be a patch out on Friday that should address some of the performance issues, but I've already uninstalled it. I definitely liked the game, and want to stream the DLC, but will wait for the issues to be resolved first. I just find it to be amusing that even when money isn't a object - given the success of both the console versions, remasters, and the TV show - that they totally faceplanted on the PC version. It blows my mind that they didn't have teams of people QAing this thing making sure the launch would be a success, or that Sony isn't providing some kind of API to manage PlayStation-to-PC hardware conversions for their development teams to avoid these very issues outright
