As Latvian we are very well aware that lady luck was on our side. That doesnt take away for a hard fought victory by our team and fantastic game to watch for hockey fans. Obviously, for us, its more of a surviving the group while you guys will play in final this year, next year or year after. Thank you for your support. I find that we (Latvian national hockey teams, Adult or Jun) are A lil' pain in the butt for team Canada. Refering to Sochi 2014 game.

It's great for international hockey that more countries are getting better and better, improving by leaps and bounds, year after year. Germany and Latvia, case in point. More competition and exciting, close games.

Latvians definitely had the more dangerous moments. Very creative and goal oriented players. Also I’m not sold on the accuracy of the shot count, to me it seemed they missed quite a few for Latvia, especially in the second period. But good effort from Germans, especially playing 2nd game in 2 days.

German here. Good game and good for you guys. Go win against the Finns. But that was no high stick it was in a passing/shooting motion and it will not get called as a high stick in any league I know.

It's a tie game and you have a power play with 2 minutes left...and you take the goalie out. You deserve to lose honestly. I'd be pissed at my coach who basically cost them the game. Odds are good enough you're going to get scoring chances with a 5 on 4 you don't need 6. Foolishness.

The odds your going to cough up the puck for a second and give up an empty netter is waaaay higher than getting a goal with 2 extra guys...1 is enough in my view because if you give up that one its over completely at least with the goalie you can fight to the end with confidence. Negate the chance of the empty netter and retain a man advantage in my opinion. Win win strategically speaking.
