- I was 9 when Szechuan sauce graced sauce pumps across the nation, so naturally, I can't remember at all what it tastes like. But with the help of some actual Szechuan sauce (like, the stuff from Sichuan), a Redditor's diligent recreation, a fast-food-secret: mixing things together in different ways and repackaging it, we might just come close!

Ash Anna Turkey Gumbo
2 onions diced
1 bell pepper diced
1 stalk celery chopped medium
4 cloves garlic minced
Leftover turkey carcass
1 cup vegetable oil
1 ½ cups flour
1 bunch fresh parsley chopped fine
½ cup dry sherry
2 Tb Worcestershire
3 Tb soy sauce
Tabasco
1 tp cayenne pepper
1 pkg. frozen or equivalent fresh okra
Place turkey carcass in large stockpot and cover with water (approx. 8 - 10 quarts). Simmer a couple of hours until meat falls off of the bone. Separate stock and remove bones, skin and cartilage from meat. Set meat and stock aside.
Make a dark roux with flour and oil. Add onions, bell pepper, celery and garlic to roux and sauté until onions start to turn translucent. Add turkey stock, sherry, Worcestershire, soy and water if necessary. Simmer the heck out of this (at least a few hours). Add cayenne and Tabasco, salt, pepper to taste. Simmer some more! Add parsley and okra and simmer some more. Taste and adjust seasonings. Add turkey and simmer even more. Taste and adjust seasonings and simmer until done. Enjoy!

Buy some teriyaki sauce powder, mix it with sweetandsour and BBQ sauce from McDonalds and it tastes just like the original :)
Edit: Mix Two packets of sweetandsour and 2 packets of BBQ in a small Bowl, microwave for a few seconds at a time, take out and stirr it every 8 seconds and when it's hot enough and then add 1 teaspoon of teriaky sauce or saucepowder into the bowl and mix until it's a smooth sauce. Done.

I love the story about why the whole szechuan sauce thing got written into the show. Apparently, Justin Roiland got obsessed with it for some reason and talked about it so much that the writers just worked it straight into the show.

we don't boil the peppers in szechuan.
grind the dry chinese peppers and szechuan peppercorns, mix them with minced garlic and ginger, heat up oil until lightly smoking, then pour into the pepper mixture and then cover and let sit until its cool enough to handle.
ANd since it is mcdonalds, mix that with corn syrup, brown food coloring salt and MSG to taste in a heated pan. You can also add a little bit of vinegar for some tang.

I remebered tasting my first Szechuan Sauce with Mc Nuggets when it re-came out for a while and I loved it but even though it came out it disappeared so fast but it was really nice while it lasted ^w^
