「コールド・ターキー」（英語: Cold Turkey、邦題：冷たい七面鳥）は、
1969年にジョン・レノン率いるプラスティック・オノ・バンドの
第2弾シングルとして発表された曲である。
作詞作曲のクレジットが初めて『ジョン・レノン』になった。
原題の直訳は邦題の通り「冷たい七面鳥」だが、原題にはスラングで
「（ヘロインなど薬物中毒の）禁断症状」 といった意味もある。レノンのアシスタントだったピーター・ブラウン（英語版）が1983年に出版した著書では、本曲はレノンとオノ・ヨーコがヘロインの禁断症状から「想像力の爆発」で書いたものとされている。
一方、1970年代後半にレノンの秘書を担当していたフレッド・シーマン（Frederic Seaman）はブラウンの説を否定し、レノンとヨーコがクリスマスでの食べ残しを「禁断症状」で食べて重度の食中毒を患ったことをテーマにしたとレノンから打ち明けられたという。
シーマンの1991年の著書では、レノンは真実の経緯を話すと笑われると考えて、制作のきっかけをヘロインの禁断症状に変えたとされている。
レノンは本曲をビートルズの楽曲にしようと考え、アルバム『アビイ・ロード』制作後、メンバーに提案したが全員に「冗談じゃない」と反対されたため、プラスティック・オノ・バンドの楽曲として発表せざるを得なかったと語っている。
レノン以外の3人は本曲をドラッグ・ソングと解釈し、ビートルズ名義の発表に反対したとみられている。
1969年9月13日、レノンとヨーコはエリック・クラプトンらとプラスティック・オノ・バンドを結成して、カナダのトロントで開催された『トロント・ロックンロール・リバイバル』に出演して、発表前の本曲を披露した。

This song was released as the second single.
For the first time, the songwriting credit goes to John Lennon.
The literal translation of the original title is "cold turkey" as the Japanese title suggests, but there is a slang word for the original title.
It also has the meaning of ``withdrawal symptoms (of drug addiction such as heroin)''. In a 1983 book written by Lennon's assistant Peter Brown, it is said that the song was written by Lennon and Yoko Ono in an "explosion of imagination" in response to heroin withdrawal symptoms.
Meanwhile, Frederic Seaman, Lennon's secretary in the late 1970s, denied Brown's theory, stating that Lennon and Yoko suffered from severe food poisoning after eating Christmas leftovers due to "withdrawal symptoms." Lennon reportedly told him that the theme was about his illness.
According to Seaman's 1991 book, Lennon thought he would be laughed at if he told the truth, so he used the heroin withdrawal symptoms as an inspiration for the production.
Lennon wanted to make this song a Beatles song, and after making the album Abbey Road, he proposed it to the band members, but everyone objected, saying it was a joke, so he had no choice but to release it as a Plastic Ono Band song. He says he didn't get any.
It is believed that the three members other than Lennon interpreted the song as a drug song and objected to its release under the Beatles name.
On September 13, 1969, Lennon and Yoko formed the Plastic Ono Band with Eric Clapton and others and performed at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival in Toronto, Canada. They performed the song before it was announced. - เพลง
