    I can relate to the twi part - whenever I am in the mist of Ghanaians which I often am as my hubby is a Ghanaian, I am always spoken to in Twi, this is how Ghanaians love their language and culture. I love the fact that they teach their culture to their kids at a very young age especially for kids born outside of Ghana. I am amazed when I see young kids born here in the UK speak twi fluently, when I couldn’t speak my maternal language at that age. Oh not forgetting their food waakye with shito is one of my favourites (I can do with it everyday)

    That's why we abuse the word "please"😂😂

    As a Kenyan who lived in Ghana for only 4 months I relate 100%🤣. Actually this video made me miss Ghana! I was in Kumasi for the time I stayed there. The “please” often took me out every time! I actually once asked a colleague why they beg before greeting🤣 “please good morning “🤣 surely why? And the Mate thing for the conductor was just another I could wrap my head around. Long live Ghana! Akwaaba😁

    Me and my Mum have this conversation in regards to Nigerians speaking more English than Ghanaians... Nigeria is SO MUCH MORE Ethically diverse than Ghana... So English is the standard for the majority.
    Yet in Ghana, Ashanti's being the more dominant Tribe, Twi becomes the standard. (GH heritage)

    • @rigg13
      @rigg13 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Great observation. But i wouldn't say Ashanti alone, but the Akan majority. Remember they occupy 9 out of the 16 administrative regions. That leaves only 7 to other tribes where i'm sure Akans are living and working too. And they always bring their culture with them.
      Personally i think Akans extended soft power where nobody was looking to.There is a twi radio or TV station in every region in Ghana, which isn't the case for every language. Remember when you control the media you control the culture/narrative.

    • @ileri-tu2dk
      @ileri-tu2dk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Tu51ndBl4d3 Nigerians use English because that's the common language we can be sure EVERYONE understands. Has nothing to do with unity. An average Nigerian will speak English or pidgin English, because everyone understands. Stop trying to be negative, it's not a good look.
