Dr. Cho is one of the most experienced and successful intercessors in recent times. He disciplined himself to pray 2 hours at the beginning of everyday. He began his ministry preaching in an old US Army tent and his congregation grew to become the largest church in the world. When asked what the secret of his success is, He said, “It is very simple, I pray and I obey!” Dr. Cho and the Korean Christians have had ongoing revival for decades. Someone once said, You will never be greater than your prayer life.
The Devil will try and convince you that prayer is a waste of time. Was it a waste of time for David Yongii Cho? Certainly not! Look at the life of any great man or woman of God and if you look close enough you will find a person with a great prayer life.
My wife and I lived in South Korea in 1979 and 1980. When we were there, South Korea was like a 3rd world country. The nation was still impoverished as a result of the Korean war of the 1950’s and also from the Japanese occupation prior to the war.
In 1979, I was a Chaplains Assistant and we had the privilege of attending Yoido Full Gospel Church when I would have a Sunday off from my duties. We have blessed memories of what we saw and experienced among the South Korean Christians.
South Korea is a nation with more prayer warriors per capita than any other nation I can think of. What most people do not know is that South Korean Christians from all over South Korea get up before sunrise every morning for prayer. Churches are filled with praying believers North, South, East and West. It is no wonder why God has blessed South Korea so much in just one lifetime.
David Yonggi Cho (born 14 February 1936 as Paul Yungi Cho) is a South Korean Christian minister. He is founder of the Yoido Full Gospel Church (Assemblies of God), the world's largest congregation, with a claimed membership of 830,000 (as of 2007)

I love Pastor David Yonggi Cho. His sermon are a blessing to my life. I like his sense of humor when he's preaching. It brought me joy and a understanding of how to have a positive mouth confession, a positive thinking and a positive Faith. I can never get enough of His wonderful sermon. Dr. Cho has encouraged me to pray every day for one hour while swimming daily, but to increase my time with the Lord from 3:00 am to 5:00 am so that my time in daily prayer will bless my Lord and savior.
