    Hands down my favorite antenna. I’ve used it for about 5 months now and it performs beautifully here in WV. Me and the YL did a 275 mile rove Saturday made 171 contacts.

    I deployed my MC-750 for the first time today at Bastrop State Park. Instead of the ground spike, I used the tripod made by CHELEGANCE. The antenna is very easy to set up and operate. I didn't have much success on 20-m, but 40-m was active, and the RX on that band with the Xiegu X6100 was very clear. The MC-750 might become my go-to antenna for work away from my radio shack.

    I’ve been wanting to get a POTA-friendly HF vertical, and after watching your review I asked my wife for one of these for Christmas. She delivered, and I took it out for a spin this morning. What a great antenna!

    I just bought this antenna last week. I tested it in my backyard and it worked fabulously. In fact, it worked better than my 135' long wire endfed on 20 meters. I can't wait to get it out to a 'boony' location and hook it to my 30ah lithium battery and see how I do. I'm using a Yaesu Ft-710. Thanks for doing this video.

    I've had several DX contacts on 10 meters using this antenna, and taking it to the beach next week for POTA.

    Getting a coil off the ground significantly improves the efficiency.
    At least you have shade. Did a Labor Day activation near Philly. TOASTY!

    Nice video, nice antenna and nice review. When it comes to ground radials, that is, wire laying or buried on/in the ground, they can be random length. They only needed to be tuned when they are elevated. The key to radials laying on the ground is, lay down as much wire as you can. For portable operating, I lay down 6 long ground radials. That's not a benchmark, it's just for me I am happy with the results.

    The MC-750 also has a coil available for 80 m and a tripod you can order from Chelegance.

    Where can I get a Instruction Manual for the MC-750? Mine did not come with anything that tells me how to tune it.

    I’m very curious about this antenna. We all know you can do the same with any 17 feet whip, but I’m curious about what they do to get 4 3.5 meters radials to be resonant on all the bands. I’ve tried that with the ss17 but it won’t resonate, maybe it’s the soil in my area.

    N6WIP - I'm new to POTA. I went to US-11125 yesterday. Now I have to enter all the data. What POTA logging and ADIF making software do you use? When you make 100 contacts, manual method makes a guy not want to sit there and enter data one at a time. I use the MFJ-2286 Big Stick and the MFJ-2289PKG Big Ears depending on wind with great success.

    We go to Galveston at least once a year, so I know what the wind is like down there on the beach. How well did that antenna hold up with those winds?

    • @HamRadio2
      @HamRadio2  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can get windy...usually if the wind is up really high, I don't go to the beach, I will go to the Bay Side of the Park. But that is kinda rare.
