      My training and experience in working with national landmarks and conservation and restoration of these valuable reminders of our past had me cringing at this amateur recovery operation. It clearly shows this woman is appointed to her position and not deserving to lead this operation. She is impolite as well. The lack of proper equipment and lighting really shows the level of amateurish attention to detail. Using that steel plaster blade was butchery!

This was a taken care of as thoughtfully and professionally as a bunch of 8 year-olds building a tree house. wtf!!! Embarrassing, disappointing, and amateurish. This is cringeworthy at best. • @militaryav8r

      Taking down Robert E. lee’s monument was in no way “erasing” history. It’s still a historical truth that he led a rebellious army and their attempt to break away from the United States. If anything, this is just acknowledging how backwards it is as citizens of that same United States to really uplift and memorialize these kind of people and the actions they took against this nation. The history is still there, we just don’t need to memorialize those who were on the wrong side of history, just like we don’t have erect statutes and other kinds of memorials for Bin Laden, Hitler, Stalin, or any other historical figures who took up arms against the United States. Please, point out exactly what US history is being erased… I’d love to know.

    • @MrKredinger
      @MrKredinger 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No matter how complicated the history is, taking monuments down is an act to censor that memory and potentially forget that history

    • @militaryav8r
      @militaryav8r 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MrKredinger First off, history is more than just statues and memorials. There is SO much more history than what we’ve made a memorial to yet we still remember it, so that can’t be the measure of wether he is remembered or not. But, as to your statement, why should Robert E. Lee be remembered in that sense? Taking into account that he lead an army that took the lives of American soldiers, without even getting into the Confederate States and their cause, what exactly is it that we are commemorating about this man? Because as best I know, he’s most known for being the General that lead an army against the United States… What is it that places this man in a different category that Hitler for instance? It can’t be because “Lee was an American” because his role in history and his actions clearly demonstrate that being a US citizen wasn’t something he wanted…

      Exactly.. I live about 30 minutes outside the city and the mayor and governor are some of the biggest idiots to ever live. They’ll probably put some African American statues in the places of all the monuments they have removed🤣

      @@sethlangenfeld I’ve been serving my country, the United States of America for 21 years. I’ve served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Robert E. Lee (and others such as Hitler, Bin Laden, all the Kims of North Korea) made it their mission to take up arms against US service members like me. Simply taking down his statue isn’t re-writing history. He still led an Army that fought against American Army… that’s still a historical fact. So why should we lift him up with memorials and statues and all that fun stuff? We don’t celebrate others who wish this nation harm, why should he be any different? Wouldn’t doing so be kind of like…… re-writing history?

    Jesus Christ saves from sin.
    Romans 3: 23
    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    Hebrews 9: 27
    And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
    Isaiah 64: 6
    But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
    Revelation 21: 8
    But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
    Romans 5: 8
    But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
    John 3: 16
    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    John 14: 6
    Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    Romans 10: 9-10.
    That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
    For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    Jesus said John 5: 24
    Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
    1John 5: 10-13
    He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
    And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
    He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
    These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
    Ephesians 2: 8-9
    For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    Romans 8: 1
    There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
    1 Corinthians 15: 3-4
    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    2 Corinthians 5: 21
    For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him..
