- Mor Acro arrives in Sefrou Morocco hoping to find the weekly souk, but instead just finds a busy Medina. A friendly Moroccan and old school hippies gives us a tour of the traditional Moroccan Medina with a river running through it. Sefrou is famous for it’s cherries and beautiful natural surroundings. It is just a day trip from Fez or stay longer and dive deeper into this non-touristic city of Morocco for a look at living in Morocco.

In your video I see that rivers and canals are very polluted in Sefrou, this hurts. The municipality in Sefrou must ensure that rivers and canals are cleaned and that all waste is removed. I say this because I see that in your video about Sefrou. I cry about the pollution of the city of Sefrou. I was born in Sefrou. I love Kingdom of Morocco.
I was surprised when you went to the waterfall in the last video but you didn't go downtown.the visit to the old medina in sefrou is amazing.you took me back through the years,back to my childhood.A beautiful feeling when I was watching. The buildings are much older than when i was living, there ,40 years ago.but I was sad to see how dirty the river is.I still go to sefrou,but a long time I haven't been to the old medina
There is a lot more to see in the old medina and outside.I see you haven't been to the jews neighbourhood ''mellah''. But some of the jews buildings appear in the video,the ones with balconies
Next time I visit my parents in sefrou I'll go to the old medina .After your video I feel like visiting my old house,that of my childhood.I wonder what it looks like now

Been binging the videos since arrival in Morocco! One thing I noticed is that you get a lot of free stuff or gentle "gifts" (like your girl playing on toys for free) and when you offer them money, you say they won't accept it. This is a bit of an incompatibility with Western and Arabic/Eastern culture called "taarof". You are supposed to keep insisting they can have the money, they will probably say no a few times but eventually accept. It's kind of a "politeness game" where they don't want to ask for money but it's kind of implied you give it to them but not in a "forced" manner to not have them be seen as beggars or needy. The reason you don't see this behavior in Marrakesh or more touristic hotspots is because they know Westerners/tourists don't have this concept and this "game"/"ritual" doesn't exist for them so they adapted to be "pushy" and more extravert (and most started overdoing it).
An example is being at someone's home, they ask you to stay for dinner but they don't really prepared anything or want you to stay but out of politeness they have to ask. You have to say no a few times to be sure they insist actually want you to stay. It's a bit complex and intuitive but can be weird if you're not used to it. Not sure if you knew this or not, there's even a wiki article about it explaining it in more detail. I'm not saying you did bad things or insulted them, just that it's a cultural incompatibility ❤
