I couldn’t deal with the straps and returned a slouchy tote in another pattern. I wanted to use it mostly as a shoulder bag and those llittle handles bugged the heck out of me. I really want something more besides the Vera tote in Enchantment Blue. I’m thinking about trying the overnight travel tote. Double handles again but maybe less of any issue in that style. Or so I hope! Great review, I didn’t notice the extra details in this version. I love the smaller scale and really wish more accessories were made in this pattern.
Got my cozy life throw blanket today (just as I seem to be catching a cold - unfortunately - but what perfect timing!) Enchantment blue is just gorgeous and I love the little pops of purple in there too!
You did an outstanding critique of this bag. Somehow it was a little humorous to, loved the hide the strap pocket comment. The fabric is beautiful but yessss this bag is a “hot mess”. I literally want to reach in and cut the straps off for you. The large Vera is still by far my absolute favorite. Thank you so much for this informative detailed review, just awesome!
My slouchy tote should arrive on Friday. If I decide to keep it I will chop off the short straps. The pattern looks beautiful. And I love the blanket. Will be ordering one soon! Thank you for the video. 😊
I really like the style ! It’s huge but I would carry it as a crossbody everyday bag. (And cut the short handles off!) I really don’t like the pattern as much as I thought I would so I am returning the bag. (I might be the only person who doesn’t like the pattern 😮). I think I will reorder it in the perennials noir dot.
@@bevborges1203 ok interesting! I’m glad you’re pleased with the style. I’m debating keeping the one I was going to cut the straps off, only because I have so many bags it seems like overkill to have two in this style and pattern. I may return one to save some money.
Alisa, Thank you for this video! I have so many comments I don't remember them all by the end of the video. You feel like a true "friend in my head" LOL I share your sentiment on many things. The Enchantment Blue is gorgeous especially the Cozy Life blanket at the end.
I went to the website to order a Glenna in Enchantment Blue. It would have been beautiful in this pattern; but they didn't do a Glenna! So disappointing.
I'm waiting on a Zip ID, Frannie Crescent and Sling Backpack in Enchantment Blue. It's so nice being able to order from VB direct again. I love Enchantment Blue, not as much as Enchantment, but it's a very close second. Thanks for your vid Elise, as always.
Great reviews and comparisons. Just like all bags, if I like look or majority of features, I can accept the flaws and find a way to make it work. And maybe I don’t need 20. I’ll be I interested to see how you do with the alterations. Even on larger bags I like a crossbody option. It may not look the best but it’s great when you need your hands. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and bag features. It definitely helps with purchase decisions.
That’s definitely a good point about the crossbody option on any bag. For me, the big draw with the slouchy tote is the big pieces of uninterrupted fabric/pattern.
I wish VB would put crossbody loops on the Vera tote then we could buy our own strap at least. I'm sure a seamstress could do it. I'd love to see your Coach bag.
@@lovinglife3954 I agree! Loops would be great! It’d be nice to have that option on a bunch of different bags. I’ve been meaning to show my various Coach (and other brand) bags-thanks for reminding me lol. I’ll try to do that soon
Very thorough review. I do like the pattern. Those straps would be very irritating to have to deal with. Makes one wonder if “they” test drive these bags or just do a conceptual drawing, say that looks good and then just go straight into production. 🤷🏻♀️ Bag is too large for me as I am only 4’10” tall. A much smaller version would better suit my frame. 😊
I think the same thing-no one is testing out a prototype. I really don’t know how a bag like this makes it to production while other bag styles that function beautifully get discontinued after only very short runs. SMH
Thanks very much for this video, fun to see the many goodies & check out Enchantment Blue up close in detail :) What you discuss earlier in the video, about the top of the Oversized Hobo (being pointed) vs top of Vera Tote (having the breakaway or recessed zipper or whatever that style closure is called) sounds similar to the difference along the top of the PT Small Multi Strap Tote (which narrows to a point where it zips shut) vs the PT Multi Strap Shoulder Bag (which flattens out to panels on either side of zipper, which allow for more space around the opening). Hard to put into words, but I think you know what I mean. The Slouchy Tote is definitely not for me, the multiplicity of straps would drive me bananas-from the side, it sort of resembles an octopus LOL with all those arms/tentacles (straps)...
The straps really are ridiculous just flopping around and hanging all over the place. It really seems like no one tested out a prototype of this thing. SMH
I love this blue version of this pattern. But I am on a purse buying freeze for a few months. I bought two new Disney bags recently and so I need to hold off. Although they were a decent affordable price. I just don’t need more bags right now. I am saddened by these sewing mistakes for Vera. My mom is a seamstress and so if something isn’t sewed right I get annoyed. I have had my mom plenty of times resew some of my clothes because of bad craftsmanship. Years ago she made quilted baby bags. She would make the quilting pattern herself on her commercial sewing machine. So she is very family with quilting. I remember her always being so meticulous about cutting off strings and making sure nothing was out of place. I have tried to convince her to go back to crafting and maybe sell some pieces and she said she would. She retired last year. So when she is ready. We have had a lot going on the last two years. Family health issues, trips, etc. But I think next year she will start working on sewing again.
Love your video! Thank you!

Idk why this was in my recommended but this video is just so cozy 🤍

It is such a good pattern. I wish they had made more items in it. Hope you feel better soon!

I appreciate that very much. It’s so nice that all us Vera ladies can have this online community on both TH-cam and Facebook

That tote is not for me. I'll stay with the Vera totes. The straps on that tote are horrendous. Thank you for the video.
