Sarawak was probably my biggest (literally and figuratively) wish list acquisition in 2024. I was lucky to find a good-sized one at a local plant shop and snapped it up. I have mine in a ceramic pot, which helps maintain moisture and keeps it from being tippy. It probably gets medium-ish light and has dark green leaves. Recently, I decided to turn the pot around on the plant stand and was shocked to see that it was hiding a MASSIVE leaf towards the base of the plant. I'm sure I knew that it had put out a new leaf, but didn't realize how huge that leaf had gotten. It's as big as my hand with my fingers outstretched, plus dark green and shiny. It's really something. I'm not a big latifolia person, but the Sarawak is definitely a must-have.
Hey Jackyln... I'm in Australia and I have very little access to soooo many varieties of hoyas here. The Sarawak is not available in the hoya specialist stores. I can go on their wait list, but the prices are ASTRONOMICAL 😕😱
I had one that was given to me it came in stratum. I left it in the stratum. It never did a thing. I watched it like a hawk. It lost the one leaf it came with. So I pulled the stump out of the stratum and there were no roots nothing had happened. So I had to throw it away. I still have hopes to get another one a bit bigger and already rooted

It does have such beautiful leaves and the venation is very pretty.

You might be better off importing it yourself from Indonesia!
