Try applying this to a bunch of different stocks and you might be less giddy. There's a lot of cherry picking of time-frames, and it doesn't seem to account for random world events that shape markets. Mass psychology can't force those events to happen in tidy five-wave series.

I trade using chart pattern but I don't really trade chart pattern, I trade the underlying of the chart pattern. I really want to know the psychology behind the patterns. EW is very popular these days... As far as human psychology theories on market projections go, I have always preferred Wyckoff's methods... but whatever works for the individual. Economics are very hard to predict, but there is a margin of predictability, even if it is fairly narrow. This margin is based on human behaviour. It's the one factor that is predictable to a degree large enough, to give you the winning edge over time. Economics is a social science afterall.

@@CalicoJoeJoe That's a tricky one; I'm not confident that stocks with that level of attention and possible manipulation would follow a clean Elliott Wave pattern. When I've tried to analyze it, it seems that the up move is not yet done. That said, there is not yet a sign that the current pullback is over too. I'd rather see the start of a new run before getting in. I hope that helps!

I always find it interesting why the market teachers always ask for money for their indicator/trading plan or advice with 20% off. Like, come on if he would know everything about the Elliot Wave and the market he wouldn't need to sell us some "advice" with 20% off.
That's the world today, if there's not a discount, fewer people buy it, basic marketing. I do know a ton about Elliott Wave and the service I offer consistently beats the market with the trading record to prove it at TrendLizard.com. That doesn't mean I make millions of dollars a year just because I can beat the market, it's still a grind and if anyone tells you otherwise it's a lie. I work hard at my craft and sell a service, you obviously don't have to subscribe if you don't want to.

That's basic explanation and known to most traders, the trick is to be able to identify the counter trend pattern, otherwise you'll never know when the correction is completed

5:45 that's not true it dosent continue to an infinitely small time scale. EW cant be applied to small time scales (e.g. the 15 min or 1 min chart) because it wouldnt make sense. EW is best used in my opinion on a daily and a weekly chart to have a feeling of the overall trend. It tells you similar information to the 50 day MA for daily charts and 200 day MA for weekly chart.
I tend to agree with you, it is not nearly as accurate on short time frames, but "theoretically" it is a fractal that expands infinitely in both directions.

looking at the CISCO chart the 5th wave certainly did take off between Dec 2018 to july 2019 going from $43 to $54 approx!

The problem with elliot waves is that it is highly subjective and you don't know which swing points to use until its all in hindsight.

5 1/2 years later this SPX elliot wave chart aged well. Even the COVID19 crash only made this a funky abc correction and now we are in another wave 3 (right?).

No, you’re missing the point of Elliot Waves. The point is that it helps you identify which stage of the Elliot Wave you’re in to predict what’s gonna happen in the trades that follow

This sort of explains why trading counter trend corrections is so difficult
Strategies like this are really great, IF you identify it properly. It's easy to mess up, and once you do, everything will be off going forward. Finding a wrong wave, or falsely identifying youre in a wyckoff schematic, can be disastrous.
I agree that being wrong can be costly, but I also believe that the pattern will reveal the issue so that it can be corrected.

so to validate a daily wave 3 has 5 wave you have to go 4h or 1h
to validate a 4h or 1h 5 waves, you have to go 10mn time frame and count 10mn wave 1,3,5 have 3mn 5waves and 10mn wave 2,4 have 3mn ABC.........

So if I understand this, CSCO completed its 5th wave in April 2019, and the correction from there lasted until October 2020, seemingly putting us in wave 1 from then to now. That means that the correction is coming (likely matching the soon-to-come whole market correction) and then we hit an explosive wave 3. Or I don't know what I am talking about, but it seems to match.
Though it really doesn't look like your Grubhub prediction played out very long. Wave 5's top was within a couple weeks and then it's been a long slow grind after.
CSCO did give us a larger degree pullback off the 2019 high as indicated in the video. We can't say with certainty that this pullback is over; the entire recovery off the 2020 low could be one large B wave within a larger ABC pullback. A move below 42.50 at any point says it is. If instead the pullback did end in 2020, then the up leg that began in October 2020 clearly looks like a 3rd wave or at least the start of a 3rd wave up.
I'm not sure what you're seeing on GRUB; it was an example of a previous setup that already played out and would have been a good trade. I wasn't making any additional forecast.
What is psychology behind all these waves ?
Nothing slippery, or lizard like in this full spectrum presentation of EW. Crystal clear analysis of the EW construction. Perhaps, consider adding though one more green shoot for interested lizards to climb in EW education by using Andrews' pitchforks at projected key EW inflection points. Two lizard brain approaches working together, in this case EW and APF, can add precision even a "rocket surgeon" could appreciate. Thank you for sharing your vast EW expertise with traders across the world. The truth shall set us all free on the higher spiritual levels as well as on the trading level.
