In the case where a lunatic is sat next to a demon or recluse, could the ST make them the marionette? I can't decide if this is a yes but don't situation, or just not possible since the lunatic doesn't start out believing they are a good player. But if the ST makes it as clear as possible that the player is not actually the demon (puts them in a knight ping, picks players as minions that are the least likely to string them along, gives bluffs that are the most likely to be revealed early not to be bluffs (e.g. virgin), doesn't follow kills if it's an ST-controlled death, etc.), would it be possible to make them the marionette, believing they are the good lunatic? I guess this doesn't work in an in-person game since the real demon would have the lunatic token, forcing the lunatic to truly be in play, but if two demon tokens are distributed instead and end up next to each other, is a lunatic marionette possible?
Yep, a lunatic Marionette is absolutely possible! Just because the lunatic believe’s they’re evil, doesn’t mean they’re still not a good player. The downside is you’re making an outsider into a minion (inherently a worse choice for evil than turning a useful townsfolk), but it’s still very viable and should be done occasionally!
