I do not think the issue is if a male act like a man in a cultural aspect. They certainly having the controlling part down. I think the issue is he responsible, has empathy, listen, helpful, postitive personality. None of that has to do with being male, but everything to do with being a good partner, spouse, and friend. As an african born and raised therapist practising in the UK. My experience is that men across all races, cultural backgrounds struggle with emotional expressions. The phase 'men don't cry' is global, in my opinion. One thing I can appreciate about the bantu culture is their male spiritual initiations. I feel that this helps african men be a little more open to relational dynamics than their western counter parts. But sadly, spiritual initiations may be a thing of the past.
