For real. I got a hdmi cord that connects from my phone to my 2k monitor. Super good picture on the big screen , and I got a controller that connects to it. Only way to properly play the game these days without some sort of emulator online. Love it
I bought this game in 1998 and have been hooked ever since. I've played the ports but the original PS version hits the hardest. I suggest getting the Dracula X Ultimate patch for the Sega Saturn. It has the unfinished areas that the PS version didn't have and all the stuff that people complained about has been fixed.
Probably should have mentioned that the wolf can swim by pressing Jump when submerged in water. It's helpful for completing the map as there are a few squares on the reverse map that are difficult to get, but made much easier by a swimming doggo.
Another beginners tip- you're fist are probably more powerful than the majority of the starting weapons up to your first fight with doppelganger. The red rust compared to fists is worse is almost every way regardless of how bad you do in the intro boss
One of the best games ever made. I agree, remake it with cleaner graphics but keep it nearly identical. Maybe some extra rooms/secret levels but keep it true to the original. Its nearly perfect.
Or even a version of the game released on all platforms where you get all access to every room from the original game, including the rooms only on the sega Saturn.

I just played a shit ton of Dead Cells then jumped on Symphony and already made it over half way in the game in like 30 minutes lol. Dead cells be giving you that trigger finger
So many good weapon combos available to beat the game with. I like the Rune Sword with Moon Rod in the other hand for increased range and the Rods ability reaches under you a bit

Yes, and you can into the lesser demon boss fight via the same method. However, if you don't have the mist you will be softlocked and unable to get the bat form.

@@zacharyberridge7239 I agree. Ritual of the Night is as spiritual successor as it gets xD. It borrows a lot of the same mechanics and the pacing is very similar. It is a really fun game with a more modern approach. For anyone wanting a remaster of SotN, Ritual of the Night comes pretty darn close.

A game I only have started playing this year since June. There is so much fun to be had with this game. Duplicator glitch for PS1 and 3 as well as early access to the Coliseum certainly spiced up the game.

Hello! Newbie here! I just started the game. I made it all the way to beating the hippogryph. I missed out on coliseum coz I got lost and ended up somewhere else so I’ll backtrack there. This game is great! Playing it and Circle of the Moon too! 😁
You forgot to mention that in order to keep all your starting gear after entering the room with death, quickly exit the room from the entrance you just came from and then enter the room again he will be gone, but the music will have stopped playing.
That's true! There are a lot of videos regarding Death skips to keep your initial equipment too, such as the luck mode method and the neutron bomb glitch
Rod Lai idk, I play games like Tekken where you need good finger dexterity to move around and pull off combos and some of these inputs just aren’t responsive, or they don’t feel responsive. Idk what controller would even help because I’m so used to the DualShock 4 and the only other one I have is an arcade stick
you can hold down the attack button instead of spamming here 2:46 ; jewel knuckles provides with max dps that way. That's how I'm also farming the spike boulder
Don't have much to add except it's possible to beat Richter glitchless without speaking to the Librarian but you need to get hit by a medusa head in the clock tower, so the mirror armor is essential. Kind of feels like the devs put the mirror armor there for that purpose. Call it glitchless thrift% lol
Right this is to explain how to sequence break past that requirement if you're interested. You can skip Olrox and traveling to the catacombs using this method. But Olrox is still fun to fight so I like to do it anyway
Yeah I first played on the PSP as well and it was very difficult. Most dpads are not optimal for the strict spell inputs but they get better slowly over time. At least the summon soul spell is easy on most dpads which already helps a lot.

I always get a weapon called the crissaegrim when I play, it can be dropped by schmoos in the inverted library, however it is a rare drop and can take hours to get, but it’s worth it to get the most OP weapon in the game
Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean by body bashing, chain rush or high kick… The bat wing smash is (in bat mode) hold X, and do a 270 degree motion from up, do back, to down, to front and release X. It’s not easy but you get used to it. If you meant the second variation of hell fireballs, then you just do the normal motion (up, down, down/forward, forward + attack) and after the teleport hold up for the larger fireballs to come out. For richter, if you mean the lunging attack, it’s the same input as hellfire. If you mean the slide kick then that’s easy, just down + X, then X again
May be late to reply to this. But you hold up on the d pad while jumping. Also double pressing a direction on stairs make dog go high. Just give it a lil practice

So it is not the most available game these days -- the primary port is The PS4 Requiem edition, which I believe is backwards compatible on PS5. Before that, it was a PS1 classic on the PSN and on Xbox live arcade (360), as well as a PSP port on The Dracula X Chronicles. Otherwise, there are less legal sources on the web of obtaining PS1 roms for playable on emulators, which I believe have okay performance. There is also a current project to patch the Japanese SOTN Sega Saturn port into english for consoles and emulators which sounds very interesting.
I know it's a grind, but you can totally get the ring of varda during your first visit to the colosseum if you're willing to kill the paranthropus over and over again. The alucart set helps a bit. You get 2 of them there and the rest of the game is a joke.
Yeah but unfortunately in the original release you can only get the ring of varda on subsequent playthroughs IIRC. But the same applies to duplicator and that’s a staple of SotN speed runs too. There’s definitely lots of ways to break the game with and without grinding
At 7:50 in the video break the fire lamp at the right of the screen for 400 gold and another one just above it for another 100 gold (500 total) then enter the room he enters in the video to the right and go back out and repeat for a early game gold farm. Other ways to farm gold but this is easy.
that's a good call. And for those looking for speedrunning strategies there are videos out there about underflowing the salable gems while selling to the librarian. Those tend to be the most common ways to afford the duplicator
Which clock trick are you referring to? Using the stopwatch to defeat the doppelganger? Unfortunately it doesn't work on all enemies. If it's about something else like the clock room that would be quite surprising
Good question! If you have the iron shield and shield rod equipped, you can press Square + Circle simultaneously to use the shield spell. All other shield spells work the same. It's a little easier to execute than some other inputs like soul steal
You can heal yourself in other ways: food, meal tickets, soulsteal spell (super useful), going to the nearest saveroom, and using a blade that you get from the big invisible dudes with swords in the reverse castle, if you buy potions and use the fearie/fairy familiar she will heal you automatically when you HP is low. I think there's a shield rod combo that heals you as well.
i'm losing my mind try to get that item that u sold for 5K the sprint input is so fucked with controler and even when i managed to sprint i don't get the jump? how did you do that (yes tried it with dog form as in the vid)

This game is amazing but having to travel through the whole map looking for a secret that has the ability that allows me to continue the adventure is horrible and it's practically forcing you to look for a guide.

No, i mean red dust is an exception, but any weapon at that point is better than your punches
@@BuruKyu Punches can double hit, which means way higher DPS than short sword and red rust. You just have to get close enough. Nyx is right on

Ritual of the Night is pretty good. Not on the same level, but definitely in the right direction.
Meanwhile I’m only like 30 minutes in and I’ve died 5 times. This game is impossible

They do work fine for me. I will say however on the PSP, the moves are easier to input faster.
How do you do that jump kick at 3:54? I can get the jump kick but it doesn't bounce me off the candle, it only puts the flame out

Is my favorite weapon as well. Though I do take the time to get double ring of varda as well to help with the odds, if luck does that in this game.
I think i played through and beat this game twice when i was younger, and i have no clue what you're doing in the video, lol.
Till today I still don't know how to do the Body bash, Bat Rash and Dark fire ball spells. And Ricther's chain rush and high kick lol...

I have the Dracula x on my psp and the death skip doesn't work like on mobile by just back dashing. Instant cutscene every time
