This sounds great. People really need to stop complaining because this is what Rotting Christ sound like these days. They have found their signature sound. So what if it sounds like Ze Nigmar? It's still a good song. And just because the phrasing is similar to Blow Your Trumpets, doesn't mean it is a rip-off. It means the two songs are similar. It's like saying Venom's Welcome to Hell or Dio's Stand Up and Shout are rip-offs of Maiden's 2 Minutes to Midnight just because the riffing is similar.
It isn't a rip off if it sounds new for them. Time and Time and Time again they prove their willingness to explore a sound. And credit inspiration . . .
Absolutly correct! There are so many songs that have similar phrasing and riffs etc. This is RC's signature sound after years of maturing. Its savage! Just enjoy it and stop whinging. If you prefer older rotting christ then go listen to the mighty contract.
Even though I love RC, the best of theirs (in my opinion) was Thy mighty contract. I saw them many many times live, but their best concert was back in 1996 with Samael and Moonspell. Maybe it is because I am an old school fossil. but I definitely agree with your opinion! I do not like comparing bands an saying this one is rip off the another. Last time I heard this was a couple of years ago, when people were saying Abigor´s Leytmotif Luzifer is too much Mayhem - ish. As a fan of both bands - and owner of complete discographies of these bands on CDs, I was just shaking my head. People should enjoy music instead of putting up quarrels.

Anyone else getting a Dark Souls vibe from this song and clip? With the lyrics talking about "hollow(s?)", the middle part of the song kinda describing the process of dying and resurrecting again (especially the "It's time to regain my burning life again" part, which basically describes a hollow resurrecting due to his or her Darksign, which is essentially a fiery halo) and all the fiery halo's in the last part of the song strongly resembling the Darksign (again, the Darksign is a fiery halo), finally appearing around the protagonist at the very end of the song reinforcing his status as a hollow. Lastly, the fire pit thing could be interpreted as a huge bonfire.
Of course, there's a pretty big chance this is just coincidence and wishful thinking on my part, but because RC has also made a song about Warcraft (Lok'tar Ogar from the Rituals album) made me think that just maaaaaybe this song might indeed be about Dark Souls (which would be totally awesome because I am a HUGE Dark Souls fan).

The Hollow depicts man. The flaming circle; the dark sign is the curse of want. The shadow is the faceless queen. A mask her only skin. The raven is man. Flying high into the Morning and Night Star which is the Moon which produces no light of its own but is reflecting the Sun with no light, some light or complete light depending on it's reflection of the Sun. Rotting Christ is man who is burning in his own emptiness of Understanding. Outer space itself being no more than a lie. Truly space itself is just an extension of Earth and Earth itself ripped apparent and spread into layers and we live inside Earth like a holographic reality trapped inside our own minds thinking we are separate from the world but what is going on outside of us externally is also happening inside of us also but we only control a very small part of it all.

Rotting Christ: the only band alive that doesn't have to prove themselves by coming out with something new or mainstream. The only band that makes simple and basic riffs that sounds heavy as fuck.

I wouldnt call RC spartan kinda metal. Thats more about Firewind with the albums like Few Against Many etc.
RC is some sort of nietzschean metal with a big variety of influences, mostly Mediterranean cultures.
