    Because of the pandemic, our professors just sends power point presentations and let us handle the "studying part" they won't even send a recorded lecture. Thanks for these examples the topics became manageable and it is easy to understand. Thank you very much professor.

    The signs on your moments really got confusing. I sat here trying to figure them out for a while. It seems you changed conventions throughout the problem. Whatever you did it was confusing. Please don't get me wrong though. You have been a true lifesaver for my Engineering courses! I appreciate the time you take to do these videos. Perhaps you can explain the signs of the moments to me and how they are oriented in parts 1,2 and 3 of this video? I would appreciate it :)

  • @Estri456
    @Estri456 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    FIRST OF ALL THANKS ALOT !! but i think you should recheck your values for the vertical forces...Assuming ANTI clockwise is positive for member BC AND summing moments about point B we get : -Vx 20 - 1kN/m x 20m -36.805 KNm + 26.389 KNm = 0 when solved gives, V = (26.389 KNm - 36.805 KNm - 20KNm)/20m = .1.521KN.

    How to get the deflection curve from there?

    • @structurefree
      @structurefree 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      After you have the moment diagram or function, you could use double integration method on each beam to get equation of elastic curve, or use another method (e.g. conjugate beam, virtual work. moment area) to get slope and deflection at a specific point.
