I've had the pleasure of dueling against Aalvarado on several occasions. They are immensely in tune with this game. When you face people of that caliber I would equate it to if you were to face a GM in Chess, largely in the sense that they will consistently find and take the best possible approach to any scenario. Also, Aalvarado has proven in the past that they can play all kinds of decks at a high level, they have just only played Chaos Turbo as of late.
Some people are just built different, right? Great description of him considering you've played him first hand. I really wanted to emphasize not just the deck, but the person who won it too. Like I said in the video, considering the year he's had, it was fitting that he won it.
@@AdrianStadthagen I actually don’t know, but I think it can be integral a bit? There’s only 15 slots, but a player can technically have more than 15 cards in the fusion deck. So, it’s basically a free for all? I’ve actually wanted to make a video on what good fusions are in goat format and why.
Relative to the Extra Deck, in Goat Format, the extra deck was unlimited. You were allowed 3 copies of all fusions. Synchros, xyzs, links, etc didnt exist.
@@mays_TCG Oh I don't mind the deck winning. Now that I play a lot more I realize that in addition to having all its technical merits, the standard chaos deck is very fun and satisfying, and you also get to play a lot of very iconic cards. Overall a chaos dominated meta is more healthy compared to other possibilities. It's just that this kind of side decking is not considered to be the most optimal option, and yet it won twice in a row. Maybe it's true what they say about a control deck with scapegoats and meta having a higher ceiling in the hands of a very skillful player... Anyway, nice cover of the tournament results. I enjoy your videos, hopefully your channel takes off soon.
@@jenkins464 One of the things I like about Meta is its complexity and how it can fit in particular situations. IMO having access to the pool of fusion monsters can be powerful if the situation presents itself. I appreciate the kind words though!
0:19 The expression is, 'On a tear' - not, 'On a terror'
@@TEKASHI-de1qt I can’t English sometimes. 😂 Thank you!

A chaos deck with a control package in the side has won twice in a row uh
@@jenkins464 Yeah, I’m not a fan of it winning again. It wins games, and with a tournament of this caliber, it’s hard to justify not playing it.
