So, there is hope, in my early 30s trying to get out of some of these traps( the education without a career, and overweight, I am working and finishing as quickly as I can with what I can. I am a year off for a marketing associates I know not the greatest, and then I figure eh why not get the sales bachelor’s while working, just so I can have a bachelor’s degree. Be mid 30s I know not the greatest spot in life. Though change what you can, accept what you cannot, have the wisdom to know the difference. Kind of given up on marriage, had a taste of a ltr it killed me inside. They talk about women being broken, rarely do they talk about men being broken. A career in sales could be worse. I honestly don't know where I'll end up at. Just trying to get out. As quickly as possible with the least amount of debt and preferably with a bachelor’s in something. I personally don't care anymore, I really don't as I said dead inside. On the outside very handsome guy. This photo is a couple of months old and a lot of pounds.) The chest is that broad though. I do have a broad one. Though my arms are bigger, my stomach smaller, my hair the same.

@@thestraycat69 yes I fell for alot of the traps... had a kid at 19 and another at 24... never went to school and worked alot of bad jobs like Toyrus and stuff. I basically thought my life was done. When I turned 28 something just hit me to go crazy hard. I started a clothing line and a YT channel. Didnt take long and I went viral... my first channel got to 200k in a year so I started this channel and got another viral video and this channel at 160k. In turn my clothing started flying. In a 3 year span I was making 15 dollars a hour with two kids to this year I made 130k. I'm 31 now and i think my 30s will be the best time of my life tbh

Looks like I'm doing pretty good at 29, having ticked all the boxes. It hurts to see some of my former friends stuck in their jobs which do have a higher ceiling but are just too lazy to climb the ladder and resort to playing video games, all day. We lost our common ground and thus lost touch to each other. That's when the scarcity mindset kicked in which forced me out of my comfort zone to find new friends. It's starting to pay off as I'm losing my overall shyness towards strangers.
The only area I haven't seen any success is with women, however in hindsight I see it as a blessing in disguise as they probably would have held me back on my track, several times. The pleasures I denied to myself back then where (for the majority) converted into action at the workplace. I don't know if I will ever be successful with women in this life anymore but I accepted this valid path to walk. Maybe someone will eventually cross my way to convince me otherwise but I'm not going to force it.

Loveeeeee #5! I realized that aspect of life last year and it's the sole reason why I'm developing myself now. Whether it's learning new skills, working out, etc., that mindset of abundance can bring you down later in life if you get so complacent. I tell this to my gf every time and she understands what I'm conveying. However, she always ends it with "we're so young."
Yes, being in our early 20's we do have the time to experiment and discover ourselves during that timeframe. But for me, I believe that we should start ASAP when it comes to developing ourselves. By the time we hit 30, everyone's gonna look at us differently. There's such a huge shift psychologically when you hit that age. From that point forward, the things you were doing in your 20's don't fly once you hit that age.
Ofc, everyone's life is different, and I don't expect everyone to reach their version of success or find their true calling before their 30's. But imo, the sooner you start the better. Delayed gratification for long term happiness is the way to go; no doubt!

    That doesn't mean it's impossible.
Although these traps are very real, it's certainly doesn't mean the end of your potential. Next year, I'll officially be opening my own training studio as a personal trainer. Then eventually, a full on gym. I also have other goals and ambitions in mind.
Keep on keeping on, my dudes!

I have learned from my parents mistakes of having me as teens, having a kid at a young age is not only a HUGE challenge and very expensive, it makes the childs life not as good. I would rather wait until I am 100% prepared and knowing that my child will have a great childhood. My parents broke up when I was 1 so it doesn't bother me so much because I don't remember seeing them as a couple. But its no fun, my parents never got along when I was little but within the past few years i think my mother has been thankful of my dad for taking care of me.
If you are curious my mother was 15 and my dad was 18.
Another bad outcome of having a child that young is you will most likely drop out (that's what happened to my mom), you could get a GED but i don't even know if she did, she might still be working at fast food restaurants or gas stations.
Thanks for the banger jack, its the people like you on youtube that will change people's lives. :)

This is sound advice I pretty much followed in my twenties instinctively which gives me much more freedom in my 40s than most people my age. A couple things I might add. In your twenties you also want to avoid debt on stupid things particularly credit card debt and car payments. The other thing is when you have the sense of abundance and feeling you have all this time in the world that’s when you take risks in business and learn valuable lessons and eventually one of those risks will pay off. Another thing that can help build yourself and accelerate your ability to achieve your goals is if you can do one enlistment or tour of duty in the military. You’ll learn so many things and build character and get additional resources for further schooling.

Now i work in retail and serve in national guard in my country. I really envy those people who got things figured out very early on in life especially the older generation. For example, my dad has highschool education and he was very interested in video making and cameras and he got involved with some TV guys to be an apprentice. He eventually started working for national TV and is still working there after 30 years. He achieved it during 90's, when soviet system collapsed and it was chaotic. People without degrees could achieve a lot during those days. Now everything has to be very formal with higher education. I hope you all achieve your goals in your 20's and be greatful for oppurtunities that come to you! Good luck!

Great video mate. I'm in my early 30s. I fell for the trap of education. Got a BSc with the intention of studying medicine (pressure from parents!). In my last yr of my BSc undergrad, I decided Med school wasn't for me, so panicked, got a dietetics degree and became a Dieitian in the hospital setting. Although I didnt want to study medicine, I still wanted to work in a hospital setting as a healthcare professional. Dietetics seemed like a good idea at the time. I lasted 5 yrs in the profession, as I grew to loathe the job because of the inadequacies of the Healthcare systems in my country and my general lack of passion for the role (I feel like I rushed into the role without doing more background work).
I'm now self employed in a different industry but fortunately I am able to transfer a lot of my knowledge to my current job. I'm content now, but overall, wish I took my time before going to Uni in my early 20s and make a more informed decision of a career path.

I agree with the education point. Definitely find out what you're passionate in. Experience different areas, realize how much being a busser or restaurant chain cook sucks and use it to drive to do more.
For me, I worked at Red Robin and discovered EMS. I worked as an EMT for 6 years before realizing I was asking questions nobody could answer. At the ripe old age of 24 I went back to university to become a doctor and because I know I love medicine and I know it's a career I want to pursue I'm driven to complete it and do the hard things. One of the best decisions I've ever made. It also allowed me to appreciate money and putting in hard work more.

Hey Denmo, nice tips. Your final point on abundance: you mentioned getting older, not feeling as good. This is mostly dependent on lifestyle and diet decisions over time. I'm 29, but feel like I have the same energy as before. But definitely I have friends who are "slowing down", gaining weight, complaining about being in pain, etc.
I'd almost say that's another "trap" that many adults fall into, thinking that as they get older they necessarily should gain weight and feel shittier

  • @Justissier
    @Justissier ปีที่แล้ว +7

I know it's a long one but maybe some can relate...
I'm halfway through my 29th year, I quit school after college and spent my 20s working "ok-paying" jobs, abusing alcohol and playing video games.
I am angry at myself because I didn't see that I was wasting my time all theses years. I thought that that was how life was supposed to be, just work and have fun, so that's what I did for all my 20s, work, drink, party and play video games.
I didn't realize I hadn't developed many important life skills, I only realized when I first stumbled on self-improvement videos a year ago...
I am 29 but still feel like a teenager... Haven't really developed life, work and social skills, immature, avoiding responsibilities... All that development paused at 21 and it is just starting to resume, but now I have lower energy and ambitions, often feel depressed...
It sounds stupid but It feels so hard to undo 8 years of bad habits, like quitting alcohol and trying to be more responsible. The only thing I feel I have accomplished in a year is going to the gym consistently and being sober for 4 months out of 12. I feel like I'm progressing way too slowly and it depresses me...
I really wish I could have discovered self-improvement 10 years ago when I started my 20s or that my dad would have tought me the importance of having many skills and such...

Yeah bro I’m about to turn 29 this year, and I never really matured. People called me a teenager until couple years ago. My bro-in-law is only 1.5 years older and he looks like it. I feel so inadequate when I see myself and him. I feel I get disrespected a lot and I keep beating myself up (not literally). I don’t have bad habits like drugs, don’t have a child etc. But I waste all my time doing nothing. I don’t have any friend. I’m the guy that is always alone at the end of the day. And now it’s even harder to do anything, I’m low on energy to do anything.

I've been a bright student, infact I'm a STEM student. Fortunately I have good skills in my field & already earn money through part-time. And college seriously feels like pyramid scheme. I agree with that statement so much.
Most of my professors know nothing about industry, they can just "discuss things" but can't tell us about doing or implementing something in real life (which various companies want as a skill).

But honestly you can't just wait for the moment, you have to take matters into your own hands. I forgot about it during the pandemic. Now I'm creating my own life on my own rulles. It's hard to do ambitious things, but when you get the goals over and over, goal after goal, it should get easier over time. Plan big things, but focus on the day to day.

For the Low Ceiling job part, I would recommend High School Grads if they don’t know what to do, to get a job in sales.
Naturally it won’t be the best paying out of school and no experience, but cold calling and setting meetings for whatever organization builds a life long skill that will stay with you, and you have a marketable skill for any employer now once you get good at it.
It’s not easy, and depending on the organization you could very easily fall victim to learning bad habits or taking advantage of people, so something to look out for. But overall such a great way to spend time.
Check out the sales subreddit for more info, lots of ways to break into sales. Just use the search bar and don’t ask obvious questions that can be searched and found

The more time I put in that job was the more I realized that everyone is competing with each other to show the boss who to give a .50cent to $1 raise to. The bosses were laughing at all of us and using us but I was the only one thinking about my way out.
One day I got a call to go weld and I quit in my boss face at the end of the day. It shocked him, left his face froze. Then within the same month he lost most of his workers besides the ones who were brainwashed thinking they were still getting a raise. All I could do is laugh when I found out.

The education part hits. I'm not American, but French, and what you say is similar here, probably worst. In France, university/college is somehow free (depending on your parents situation) for everyone, which cause young people to be over-degreed for the job market. I have a master, and in second year I realized all of what you said. I finished my master and decided to not doing a doctorat (PhD) even if my teachers said I was talented enough for it though. I realized I just wanted to be a humble librarian, because I always liked libraries and books, which is still related to what I studied (so this is not that bad !). I enjoyed my studies a lot, being the fun guy of my promo, I had good grades, I was interested in the subjects we studied, and still am, but maybe I'd have chose a different path if I had knew sooner who I am, instead of following what everyone elses do, just to unconsciously fit in.

We also get compared to our families from when they were in their 20s and say things like, "when i was in my 20s i was already married and had a house and had my first child etc". Which in turn sort puts us young lads under pressure and we end up into a depressing mindset on how we gone wrong. Im kinda going on a rant/tangent didnt mean to go long into it but thats just my 2 cents :)

I'm 41 no kids never married despite having options and several pregnancy scares. I listened to the older men who told me this advice. They said don't get married whatever you do. And because I'm selfish and do not want to spend my time raising a child I chose to better myself. I started my business in my 30's after working for a company in my 20's while going to college to learn my trade. I spent my free time in the gym and sleeping and going out with friends. I had a few long term relationships but they all ended up being not really worth marriage or having kids with. I am so glad I chose to be happy in my solitude before it was too late. Now at 41 I have all my hair not a wrinkle on my face and I'm jacked and make great money. I don't have stress and I have women in their 20's throwing themselves at me. I suggest you all do the same. If you want a family great but I cannot stress enough the importance of waiting until you've lived you life and gained the experience necessary to do so. I traveled the entire country and lived in my truck and in a tent in national parks for a year in 2009. I came back and almost got married but I chose to end things. Sometimes I wonder what would have been but I am glad I made the right decision because I can still have kids any time I want. All I do now is work and workout and spend time with family and friends with the occasional date sprinkled in. I could not be happier. I am here to help young men make the right choice. You do not have t ok get married and settled for a mediocre wife, job or life. Get your shit together first! Then decide. There is no clock ticking

Great post Mike. I'm in exactly the same boat as a 41 year old, no kids, self employed, and in good shape. People often mistake me for late 20s or 30 max and they're shocked to find out my real age. Life is good. The only thing I would add is that if you're sure you don't want kids I would highly recommend a vasectomy. Guys like you are a prime target for women hoping to baby trap a guy. I got fixed last year and it was one of the best decisions I've made. The peace of mind it brings is priceless.

@@danielbezjak1479 I don't sleep around or with just any woman I can get. I enjoy my peace and solitude, so I will talk to several women at a time until I find one I like enough to start dating. For me to date a woman she has to be wife material for me.. she has to be someone that would want to have kids with. Anything less is not worth the risk or time. This keeps my dick clean and wallet fat. I have had my fun and don't need sex or women at all. If they didn't make it so easy I would not deal with them at all. So I have the D control and self discipline enough to avoid child support payments. I am not against having kids. Just not yet and not with just anyone. It's has to be easy and right and blessed by God. Until he puts that woman in my life, I am happy with the way things are and I'm excited about the future so I will not be getting snipped. I'm too much of a naturalist anyway. I don't even snip my dogs.. I don't want to take away my reproductive option just because feminism has ruined women

I absolutely disagree especially with number one, being a husband and father by the age of 21 has been the most fulfilling thing I've ever done in my entire life, I still get to the gym 5 days a week and I'm still able to take vacations and do all that I want to do, but it's even better because I get to do it with my wife

You might've been ready though. Most people rush into that stuff without really thinking it through, or even knowing themselves that well. For every person I know that was happy doing exactly what you did, I know 5 that ended up in divorce and having to pay child support to a woman who got married to someone else who has a much better-paying job than them.

Tbh if I went to school I would of never started my clothing company or started my YT channels which is the reasons I make all the money. Just 3 years ago I was broke af and washing dishes. Turned it all around quick and now since I had kids younger I'm able to do fun things with them and still be 31 while hes 12. I will add that it's not only about salary. You can do hard physical labor year long as a lineman or a electrician bending pipe outside and make 120/160k a year. Think you'll enjoy that when your 45 and tired of 0° weather strong winds (maybe 90° and humid) and back breaking work? Probably not, maybe some. Choose something that is beneficial for your health and your wallet.

For someone who turned 20 recently what do you think is the proper balance between working towards your goals and partying/clubbing? I personally am satisfied with the track that I'm on in terms of career, fitness, relationships, and travelling but am feeling a bit of FOMO in terms of not partying or clubbing as my friend group at the moment isnt really into those things. You think partying and clubbing is something I can put off for a year or two, or should it be something I should be more intentional about doing to avoid fomo. Great videos btw really makes me reflect on what I want to achieve

Jack, do you have any tips on getting over a first love and how you would approach dating afterward?
    [Two weeks ago]
This girl (22f) and I (23m) had to split after 2 yearsbecause I wasn't ready to make the commitment to moving in with her right after college and we werent willing to do long distance. (Not financially, physically, or emotionally ready, among other things)
I kind of feel like an ass right now since I was essentially the cause of the breakup and she didn't do anything outrightly wrong. Its even worse that be both care about eachother and cant have eachother without dealing with immense challenges.
Now I'm struggling to believe that I can meet someone new that can love me to the same degree that she did, especially now that college is almost over.
Does love really just come and go like that?

Love definitely can just come and go if you let it. If that is the girl you want to spend your life with. Then you need to figure out how to make it work. If not someone else will come, you just have to put yourself out into the community.

    • @louisstout9952
      @louisstout9952 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@CSaenz44 didn't feel like including all the details or it wouldve been an essay. I would have no friends, would've gotten stuck in a career path I didnt want to do, it would be much much harder to save any meaningful amount of money. I would be stuck in my college town in the middle of nowhere for several more years (I really dont want to be here anymore)
I would be sacrificing plans that I had for myself so that she could fulfill all her plans. Most of her friends and her sister will be there for a few more years, she has a really nice job there, and she likes the area alot. I would not be a happy person and that would definitely poison our relationship.
We both agreed that we would rather end things while our love is beautiful rather than keep going with a high chance of things turning really sour. That way, we can still be friends and possibly get back together if our paths realign.
