The Rabbi seems to be taking lightly, to say the least, the age-old practice of adhering to the customs of our ancestors. Among the pious, the customs of our ancestors, in even the most minute of details, were clung to with passion and tenacity - never was any aspect of observance executed in a haphazard or random manner. And this is still the practice of our gedolim and talmidei chachamim.

Because there are different ways, which ancestor? HaRav is speaking to Halacha. If one finds more meaning in wrapping a certain way and can have more kavanah, BH. Isn't that a priority?
