Thanks for the in-depth review of these amazing dart boards; you're a pretty good player too! As I'm from the UK, where darts is more popular, how popular is it in the US? Bit more of a niche sport, I'd imagine (similar to snooker over there). Always cool to see our US cousins embracing popular UK sports. Will keep an eye out for future reviews!

Funny, I walked through the uk, Manchester north to John o Groats, and almost none of the pubs had darts.
Those that did, I was usually the only one playing. The guy from the USA. Very occasionally, someone would play me but they usually sucked ass.
My impression of the UK as darts players was destroyed by my three months walk g through Scotland.

The thing is darts is such a cheap sport to get into and have at home the good players only come out for tournaments / dart nights in the boozers

i got the standard board,, and its way to soft and dry hits the board under the sisal..and the darts are not stuck like on the blade 5.. i give it 3/10

Will the Winmau carbon core take a soft tip dart as well as a steel tip? Looking for a quality board that will take both as my kids love to play but are to young to have steel tip darts..any help would be great , ty
Hello, some argue that throwing soft tip darts onto a steel tip dartboard puts it through unnecessary wear and tear. The sisal is designed to heal itself after steel points drive through them repeatedly (although steel points tend to be more narrow than a soft tip plastic point). You can technically throw soft tips onto any bristle board, it just requires a decent/harder throw to make sure they stick and don't easily bounce out with their blunt surface. We highly recommend never storing your darts (especially soft tip darts) in the play area of the steel tip dartboard when you're finished playing/practicing. This will help prolong the life of the sisal.

That wall protection is so cool! Is that for sale anywhere ?
Hey Bert! Yes anyone can buy those wall tiles. However, just a warning - we do not recommend them specifically for darts players - they are only meant to be decorative and help with sound proofing. Darts will not stick well into those tiles and more than likely will just pop right out and potentially hurt someone nearby. Long story short, they don't act like a foam dartboard surround. They are too thin for the dart to penetrate and stick well. Here is the website we used: feltright.com/
Is the rim metal to accept a magnetic lighting system?
Yes that is correct. For example, you can use a Target Corona Light with any Winmau Blade 6 dartboard.
Is the bull softer than on the B5? For those of us who dont play cricket and prefer a softer bull. Also hate the triple core number ring and orange paint. Stick to traditional colors please Winmau! I'll be passing on the B6 boards .

The standard board has the best price/performance ratio.
After all review, I can say that blade 6 is the best because there is a bigger T20, T19 or T16 about 3mm

How long do you test these boards for their purported longevity? It would be reassuring to show us how a board looks after you have tested it. That would really sell me. It seems quite easy to invite players to throw, time them so you know how many minutes of use there are, and evaluate. You mentioned giving updates in 6 months and a year. This would seem to indicate you have not actually tested their longevity. ?
Longevity of the board is massively determined by what sort of points you use on your darts . I use smooth gold points which doesn't destroy the sisal. 100% makes the board last longer. Roughing or sharpening points wear a board out quicker.

Ah I just realized that is due to me turning my head to the left and continuing to speak whereas the lapel mic is clipped to the right of my collar. Noted for next time - I think the audio was only noticeably quieter during the shooting portion.
And the music was unnecessary for me. It was a bit to loud.
The company was founded in 1945, so they have been perfecting their dartboards for more than 30 years 😉

Winmore is technically the correct pronunciation worldwide - most Americans don't actually pronounce it that way.
@@azdarts No, it is not. There is no R In the word. You assumed I pronounced it as Winmow as in cow. It’s pronounced as Winmaw, as in Claw. The video below you linked proved it. He says…it a combo of the names Winifred and Maude. Where is the R in the name Maude?
