      I mean the frame that hold them together felt, I think I just lost all my bearings because of this, they are all loose inside the bearing frame. I just got 16 bearings from a Rollerblade that were on my attic since 2010 :(

    I prefer not to use wd40. Each of the bearing's ball surface somewhat very smooth like coated. I tested using dry silicon grease (also tested wd40 as well) and compare it to without lubricant (i just clean the bearing using thinner A Special liquid and dry it with hairdryer). The result is without lubricant is smoother and longer spin time (but a little more noisy)

      Wd40 has water in it it’s water based it will rust your bearings over time don’t ask why I’m watching this after fidget spinners are out of style it’s for my scooter wheels

  • @Goudafortuna

    You fucked up with the water part, it rusts the bearings. If you are going to rinse it in water you should use a blow dryer to dry them off.

    i buy a new spinner and its spin 2.5 min , and then i give a wd-40 on my new spinner , and its just spin for 30 second. Are you have any solutions , to get back my spinner into 2.5 min spin?

    • @Connor-wf2zn
      @Connor-wf2zn 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Audyna rs it's to thick of a lubricant, put the bearing in 100% acetone for around 8 minutes and it'll take off the wd40 then let the bearing dry

    Are abec 7s good

    • @ROBNOB9X
      @ROBNOB9X  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The ABEC scale I believe is from 1-9 with the number being related to the quality of manufacturing, the higher the number the better made basically. This means 7 is a better quality bearing than an ABEC 4 bearing for example. This doesn't necessarily mean it's faster though.

    I have a brand new $30 spinner that only spun for 30 seconds. I checked the bearing and sure enough, it was rusted so I soaked it in white vinegar for an hour and all the rust came off. I then soaked the bearing in isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to clean the bearing and then dried it with a hair dryer and now it spins for 2-3 minutes.

    • @rodrobosa655
      @rodrobosa655 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      does it really work? i accidentally put powder onto my spinner's bearings and now its fucked up

    • @KokoandFooFoo
      @KokoandFooFoo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it works. Vinegar is acidic and will loosen the rust and dirt in your bearing. Rubbing alcohol will then clean the bearing so that it's smooth and free of residue. When soaking, use a toothpick and spin the bearing several times while in the vinegar to free up the rust or dirt. Repeat this toothpick method when you soak it in alcohol as well. After soaking your bearing in vinegar and then rubbing alcohol, thoroughly dry the bearing with a hair dryer. If you want your spinner to spin fast and long, the bearing needs to be clean (people make the mistake of putting oil into the bearing because they think it will make the bearing more smooth. This is incorrect. Oil attracts dirt and dust and will get thicker in the bearing which will slow it down. If your spinner is noisy when it spins, you can add a very small pinhead drop of machine oil to make it less noisy but adding too much oil will slow down the spinning.) I would recommend pure white vinegar and rubbing alcohol because they're not harsh and do not contain additives or particulates that may gunk up the bearing. If you use strong industrial solvents, it may also corrode the bearing.

    • @rodrobosa655
      @rodrobosa655 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Safety Glasses if using that razor blade method!! Can't stress enough. And jeez not toward the face, man! It ought to be mandatory for any instructional vid involving razor blades to require age verification. By the way, that de-greaser fluid will last 10 times longer diluted at 1:10 with water, which is for heavy duty degreasing.

    Do NOT use WD40 for a lube, it is not intended to be a lubricant. The light carrier lube turns gummy/sticky after a while.
    Use a proper lube, like a light oil...3in1 oil for instance.

  • @doa1332
    @doa1332 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Horrible suggestions. It is actually the bearings going bad or substandard. Best way to fix the issue is spend a very small amount of money and buy some new bearings that are better quality. There are many options on amazon. The bearings you are showing were meant to stay sealed with grease in them, thats why you had to cut your fingers to hell trying to remove the seals. The better spinners have open bearing so all that is needed is to unscrew them and spray them with a greaseless cleaner and then put maybe, and I say maybe the thinnest drop of lube possible on them and put it back together. Those bearings were never meant to be opened. Sorry to be so straight forward with you but people need the real deal.

    I use really small bearings on my spinner and i get over 4 minutes of spin (spun by hand) and it makes lots of noise but it works really well. BTW anyone know how to get rid of the noise?

    This is the worst thing I've seen. Haven't you heard that putting bearings into a liquid ends up fucking it up as durability of the particle atmosphere is slightly damaged and the races hide water which is worst then gunk.
    Btw no offence.

    • @ROBNOB9X
      @ROBNOB9X  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha Nope didn't know this and I'm definitely no expert on these things. I just saw other people doing this to get better spin and it worked for me. I did dry the bearings completely after rinsing them so hopefully that would solve the problem of the water. Also with no grease to help protect them, this is just for fidget spinners really so I'm not accounting for if somebody wants to use them in a skateboard where lots of dust etc will obviously get into them.

    I was trying to fix my fidget spinner and I'm 13 so I can't get this stuff and after an hour and numerous fails from other days I found out how to fix so my brother always drops his spinner and the middle bearing broke I switched it with the outside ones but the buttons wouldn't fit I tried wd-40 wich was probably a bad idea if not an idiotic one and I finally rinsed it out with water after a few days of trying and that worked I was so mad so if any of you guys see this and are trying to fix your fidget spinner bearing just try rinsing it with water first

    I've cleaned my bearings out, but they only spin for about 5 seconds, what can I do to improve this time?
    EDIT: I just watched the rest of the vid, and it shows that the bearing spins faster when you put it in the spinner, but I'm planning to make a homemade one, so what do I have to do to the spinner itself to make it spin fast?

    • @ROBNOB9X
      @ROBNOB9X  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make the spinner as symmetrical as possible and add weight to the ends, like where I have other bearings in there, these are there to add inertia which makes the spinner spin better. Good luck.

    • @ariankagrand4467
      @ariankagrand4467 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! So far I've made 3 models, and my best one spins for 15-20 seconds. The problem is, I'm carving it out of cardboard (the base) and It's kinda hard, so the shapes aren't very symmetrical, so; even though the weight of both sides are very close and I've used a file to even it out, It's really hard to make it very symmetrical.

      I have another problem, and it's that as soon as I clean my bearings, they can spin for up to 30 seconds, but after spinning it around 20-30 times, the spin time decreases down to 14-17. Why is this happening?

    Water rust the barrings just put it in wd-40 for like a min then take it out

  • @karlito_sway
    @karlito_sway 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    dont rinse the bearing under the tap, this will promote rust. once its fully degreased, dry it on kitchen roll, then reapply a square millimetre of grease into the bearing, spinning will eventually cover all the surface area involved making it smooth, quiet & protected.
