I apologize for commenting on a semi-older video, but you mentioned if somebody wanted to try multiple genres got me thinking about something. Would you recommend somebody to stay within a certain genre of music while gaining an audience or is it okay to try multiple genres while growing? Try whatever you feel and enjoy most. These days I don’t like telling people to do things they don’t like just to grow an audience. Sure, there’s some things you’ll have to do like admin type work or marketing but when it comes to the music making itself… do whatever you love. Don’t compromise. If you wanna mix genres, do that to begin with. Don’t be 75% of who you want to be musically and the other 25% spent on making something in just one genre just because. Simply make what you desire to make and love to make.
