in madden 08 u could be any position on both sides of the ball even o-lineman and d-lineman and now it's 2021 and we haven't had that in the game for years.

Ok but all FIVE positions of basketball (compared to madden) are virtually the same. Can you be a center and shoot 3’s? Yes. Can you be a PG and only focus on chase down blocks. Yes.
In football. Can you be a safety and throw the ball? No. Can you be a offensive lineman and intercept a pass? No.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t be able to play all positions, but given the lack of communication between EA, the devs, and the NFL, I give them credit for at least adding 1 defensive position.

@@ironsteel5004 EA has done more positions in the past. Giving them credit for the bare minimum is silly. I wouldn't compare 5 positions in basketball to around 8 for football but nah, we need more depth.

Ufc has the best hairstyles I think they should all just be in all the games

Why won’t they put every position in face of the franchise? I would love for a dev to answer the question, because there was a madden where you take control of individual offensive lineman so it can be done. I hate when games take things away and then try to bring it back like they did something new

Gameplay looks the same. Defense AI looks the same. Defenders get to their zone and just stands still. Madden 2005 gameplay was better. It’s sad.
Game looks the exact same. Only difference I see is their little momentum and home field perks/advantages. Game play wise, literally everything looks the same lol

There is images of madden 21 having certain banners and other sections of the game having older games. One banner specifically said madden 19. This lets you know they recycled parts of previous games. And all that would have been fine if their time was dedicated to gameplay.
Animations are bad or aren’t update.
Players don’t react to certain situations.
You see several plays where players just stand still like the original comment said. And not only defense, you see oline doing it too.
The game can be manipulated in multiple ways that’s unrealistic. Zone manipulation, oline manipulation. You can literally just run around defenders. Abilities are unrealistic and don’t make for a simulated football game. They’ve neglected franchise up until this season.
Mut is the only thing EA has cared about over the years because it brings in a ton of money on micro transactions.
And honestly all these garbage would be fine if they didn’t make promises of what you’re getting new with each game. Where is this AI that is supposed to essentially learn based off tendencies or a smarter oline AI that actual reacts properly to plays. If they just came out and said it’s a roster update and MUT rework, people would be disappointed but it wouldn’t be a lie.
