It already exists, it’s called the super horn which can destroy it as soon as it’s hovering overhead or using a well timed mushroom to escape the blast zone.
I love the invisible gear part mainly because it's the best one in my opinion since it makes the race feel kinda realistic in a way where it's just pure racing without hurting any of the racers. But nope, they don't have that setting for free race. I wish they added an option to turn off power-ups where it's just pure racing, like I mentioned.

That ghost ability is good way to avoid the giant golf ball/basketball. If only Mario Kart had that type of power-up to evade the blue shell.

This feels too similar to mario kart for me. I prefer the previous 2 games.
