  • The Maple Hill Open is headed into "moving day" and we have Paul McBeth with a slim lead over Ricky Wysocki. Just behind them is Gregg Barsby and David Wiggins.
    AJ Risley provided the camera coverage while The Disc Golf Guy does solo commentating in post production.
    This is a Professional Disc Golf Association National Tour Event taking place near Leicester, MA at the Maple Hill Disc Golf Course. Tournament Director is Steve Dodge.

    Great to see Wiggins playing such a variety of shots and not trying to overpower everything, especially those forehands. Probably a big reason he was so competitive this tournament.

    Funny to hear your commentary from the live stream with your overlaid commentary. Also I think the Mcpro Roc 3 should just be called a McRoc

    I know it's almost impossible for anyone to critique Paul (especially an MA1 player like myself!) but I do wonder sometimes if he should throw FH on a couple more holes. We all know how good he is with it so I find it odd that after both Ricky and Greg throw great shots on holes 9 and 6(I think it was 6), that he still throws a turnover shot that just doesn't ever seem work as well. Anyway, great job again guys, big thanks!

      Nick Hill I think he trusts his backhand shots more than his forehand shots and only uses his forehand when nothing else would work.

      Nick Hill No, and here is why. It's easy to be a TH-cam caddy in retrospect knowing he lost by just a few strokes. But this is Paul McBeth you're talking about. You can guarantee he is choosing what he believes to be his most effective/confident shot for the situation. Also, Paul rarely throws FH on tight lines - it's usually when he can air it out.

      Nick Hill McBeth is only good at anhyzer flex shots with overstable discs when throwing sidearm, and that line isn't always available on a course this tight. He doesn't have nearly the all around sidearm game Rick and Greg do, those guys can hit all the angles sidearm. He's mentioned it a couple times this year as being an area he'd like to improve.

      TJG SOS - I just finished editing the Back 9 of Round 3. I will have to add my manly voice over in the morning which means this should be rendered and published for the world before noon or so. Well, I'm hoping anyway!
      Time to start round 4. Scorecards are done for it now!

      TJG SOS Update: It's 12:20 PM Central on Thursday and R3B9 is rendering (after I did commentary this morning for it). That looks like 90 minutes then I'll be uploading it to "The TH-cams" immediately that. You'll have it late afternoon I'm guessing.
      I already edited the footage from R4F9 which is great so hope to get that going soon after these.

    I thought hole 9 was a par 4. If memory serves, it was a par 4 last year.

    • @thediscgolfguy
      @thediscgolfguy  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +blargy72 - this hole has been listed as both a par 3 and a par 4 in the past. It's a debate that will likely rage on for years but I believe it was last deemed a par 3 (at least at this event).
