Hi Kripalji, I am a Malayalee living in Mangalore for the past nine years. The Tulu land is a small area with diverse cultures, different languages, diverse foods. In my observation the Mangalorean breakfast foods and the Seafoods are loved by all.
There are different combinations with Avalakki. People eat Avalakki with Mosaru (Curd), Ubbittu, Sheera or Cooked Greengram. Iddly with Thove (stewed lentil), Hesru Avalakki, Sheera and Buns are unique of Tulunad and are my favorite items.
If you like Pork, you should not miss Marybai's mess at Valencia.
In Mangalore, I never felt that I am away from home. This is a land that embraces whoever come to this place. From the day one, in my professional life and social life I felt that I am one among them. To cut short, I say, I love Mangalore, Namma Kudla!

Being a Bangalorean, Mysore, Mangalore and Belgaum remind me of the early 90s pre IT Bangalore. A bit laid back but still having all the comforts, nightlife etc of a city. These cities give you the time to stand and admire a flower, while taking a leisurely walk. Don’t make you feel too guilty that you are not in the/part of the rat race

Mangalore not really...Mangalore has been getting taller skyscrapers than Bengaluru and more over it’s a port city....he is just shooting in some old residential areas of Mangalore. Mangalore in weekdays is more busier than Mysuru on Dasara days

    Love everything about Mangalore.
Forever a manglorean at heart though residing outside Mangalore after Marriage.
Indra bhavan's sajjige bajil( uppittu avalakki), golibaje and buns - part of growing up
    Nostalgic after seeing Indrabhavan.
The old place was even more homely.

The best memory of this city is when you hear the sound of the waves while crashing into your bed , the sound of the rainfall droplets falling on the mangalore roof tiles. The people of mangalore are very down to earth and we have natural beauty!!! Thia video made me feel nostalgic as if its calling me back to managalore!!! Amazing show sir!!! ❤️

Thanks a lot, as this brought back my old memories. In the late 90's this was located on the main road next to Vas Bakery. The bus stand was just at the hotel entrance and was a busy area with lots of people moving around. It looks like they have shifted operations a little bit behind from the original location. When my Office collegues asked me to join them for a tea break, I was hesitant at first, as it looked like a very old hotel and ambience, interiors were too dull in an old tile roof building. But after my first visit I found out that, quality wise the food was great and the waiters were very friendly. From then on I was a regular customer twice a day for three years. I realized that looks can be deceptive at times and it's unfair to judge the quality of a restaurant merely on its looks / appearance.
Last but not the least, the last item served to you was my all time favorite. During those days, the combination was beaten rice with sajjige.
Keep up the good work. God bless

Something about Mangalore which makes it so unique.. Loved the video over all.. Also in another video ( Shri Ram Bhavan ) you had talked about the "Honest pricing".. again so perfectly described.. the Hotels in Mangalore still believe in "Honest pricing" which makes it so affordable for the common man.. unlike so many restaurants in other parts of country which sinply fleece people in the garb of doing business.. thats were Mangalore stands out..
Thanks for your videos.. Loved them, keep up the good work 👍🏼

Uppittu, sheera, tuppa dosa, avalakkai or sajjige bajil as it is called in tulu, goli baji, buns, palav, edma a drink made of sesame seeds & all others take me back to my childhood days in my hometown of Belman at my granny's place in udupi district. I always love to visit mangalore but nowadays it has become difficult due to work but mangalore reminds me of a place which has its beauty still intact in some places. Its has those beautiful rivers, hillsides, farms, mango, cashew trees, mallige flowers and also some beautiful memories. I hope you too had such beautiful memories of your childhood kripal sir. Loved this video. Hope you can visit more places in mangalore & udupi. Such relaxing places.😋👌🙏

A laid back city, lucky to be calling it my home. “Kori Rotti”, perhaps the best dish ever for a Mangalorean.
