He'd been a custodian at Beaverton Oregon high school for over 20 years. I turned him in, he got 20 yrs, my cleaning lady got 10 years, little did I know she was helping him lure her own daughter in their bed!! 🤬🤬🤬 My first call was to the school, and they said no way, he'd worked there for years. After I called police it took a year before it went to the grand jury! But thank God it did!

While I agree with how that sounds to benefit the abuser, it's probably a provision in their contract. It's probably there because an investigation might find that the teacher didn't do anything wrong. Not in this instance, of course, but just in general.

None of this is shocking. At our high school in CA, one female student married the Counselor at the other high school, the day after Graduation. So, he was courting and dating a minor AND still worked at a school. Well, he just recently became the Superintendent of our school district, he must be a happy hunter. As a student and later as a parent I have complained about Mr. P. and complained and complained and nothing has ever happened. I'm not the only parent to complain, you keep that Pervert away from my daughter!! If I ever hear he's anywhere near her class, this will not end well for him. In 4th grade, our teacher Mr. Blank used to ask the girls to stay during recess so he could show the students how to do hand stands. It always involved girls wearing skirts. I noticed, and stopped wearing them. Me and my best friend warned other girls, but they brushed it off. This was in 1988.
I used to work as a school counselor at a high school. My husband also worked at several high schools throughout his work life (we're both retired now). You would not believe how common this is!!
When I was 13 in 93, my grade 8 teacher was dating a female fellow student of mine. The whole class knew and nothing happened. I’d bet nothing has ever happened to him even now!

Parkland High School in Allentown, PA is having a similar situation. Former Arts Director and Choral Teacher Francis Anonia is under investigation for an incident in 2021 but his victims stretch back over a decade prior, and his former student-turned-fiance also abused students after he graduated himself and was charged with possession of CP. I witnessed this teacher and his fiance being intimate on school grounds when the fiance was still student too as a student myself over a decade ago and several teachers insinuated I was homophobic for having issue with it, and brushed me off. Several other former students also reported this as well as his abuse of other students. Many of the people responsible for sweeping what he did under the rug have since retired, including the English teacher who ran the winter theater show, and the initial superintendent that he worked under.
I've always said this!! I love children and you could not pay me $500 an hour to spend 8 hours a day with 30 of them day in and day out. The only people who would/ could stand it are perverts, weirdos, and zen masters. I'm forced to guess there are a lot more perverts and weirdos than zen masters.

My soccer coach who also taught math was rumored to be a creep for more than 20 years before he was finally caught with a student. he was allowed to quietly leave the school and move out of state, no legal consequences at all for him.
This is a big reason victims hesitate or never come forward! They must be believed and properly investigated by the proper authorities. This generation deserves better imo. The children aren’t put first. I’m glad this gentlemen is able to help be their voice! 🙏🏻

He would walk up real close to the corner of your desk, roll up on his toes for clearance, and when he flattened his feet back he’d be resting his package on the corner of your desk. 🤢🤮 We all complained but the school never did anything… Thinking about him still gives me the heebie jeebies.
As a social worker and therapist, I love seeing a TikToker using his platform to call out abusers. Sometimes "the system:" lets things falls through the cracks and this guy took it to the streets and made things happen!

Fenton highschool at Bensenville Illinois is facing the same issues. There were multiple reports of a teacher having relations with students and he wasn't busted until recently. Never stop putting the focus on these schools. They'll never learn otherwise.

Homeschool is just as tricky in the opposite way, because a lot of people who abuse their kids get caught when the kids go to school and tell somebody. So predators take advantage of their kids never going to school and potentially telling a classmate or a teacher about their parent or uncle or grandparent abusing them. So it’s not the silver bullet you’re alluding to it being.

In high school there was an assistant principal the girls all knew to stay away from. He was creepy and weird. When he resigned because he took another job one of my teachers made a joke that they thought about getting a newspaper to where he was moving so she could see when they “finally arrest” him. My daughter told me about her World History/Theater Arts teacher being inappropriate with girls. I told her to go to the counselor who said "Mr. Kennedy? Noooo wayyy!" Then i started asking around town to young high-schoolers. Funny, i got anonymous texts with pictures of him hugging girls behind the curtain inappropriately. I went to the police chief. His 1st response was "i thought he was batting for the other side" and after i told him im going to the superintendent after this he saud he was on his way and he'd tell him. Later that day my daughter was switched from his class and nothing was done until a yr later. When Mr Kennedy was caught with the superintendent's runaway daughter, in Louisiana, at a bar, inside a casino, serving her drinks. 🙃
Yuck. Reminded me of my old grade 7/8 teacher that ended up as principal of our small rural Catholic school. It was known between all of us girls in the class that he was always leering or creeping up behind us while we’d be sitting at our desks. We’d catch him looking down our shirts and he’d breathe on our necks with his nasty halitosis breath. I would just hold my breath while he’d stand behind me hoping he’d leave 🤢 I ended up leaving that school because I couldn’t stand being in his classroom
Had a principal like this in elementary school, would compliment the young girls on see-through yoga pants, give shoulder rubs, feet, let you work as his assistant in his office during lunch. All horrible memories.

Local St. Helens resident here. It was happening and was reported when I was in this school. 04-06. On top of that parents of my generation say it happened when they were in school.
There has been another arrest of a middle school teacher in the same district. It’s a huge cover up and the superintendent and principal are now on administrative leave.
Everyone needs to be charged. When you are a teacher you are a mandated reporter so everyone failed all of those kids. Everyone who stayed silent is LUCKY a child didn’t get hurt worse. So sad kids cannot go to school without fear anymore,

When I was 16 in the UK, a classmate said the school caretaker (janitor in the US) was her boyfriend. He definitely looked older to me, probably somewhere in his late 20s. I would see her & her friends in the playground with him all the time. Back then, I never saw anything wrong with it, now I realise it was probably grooming. Unfortunately, the age of consent here is 16, but it's still really creepy

There was a teacher at my school who has recently been imprisoned for very inappropriate behaviour with a male student in the 80s and 90s. Always knew there was something about him, but as a kid, you don't know what it is.
My brother and I had a history teacher who was violent with the students. If he saw someone talking while he was teaching he would throw the chalk in his hand at that person like he was trying to strike out a batter in the 7th game of a World Series. When my brother had him he saw this same teacher throw a student against the lockers. He left the school after winning the lottery! We need to work on our own peace of mind because there’s very little justice in this world. It’s hard, I know. I had a violent father and at age 66 I still have nightmares about him.
In 1976-78 I was SA’d by a middle school teacher. I got the courage to report it in 1992. Was told due to statute of limitations the teacher was untouchable and he remained working at the school unhindered until his retirement. 🤯
Parents need to start doing their own research put in the work and search up all the staff at your children's school. Us parents are the ONLY ONES who care for our kids safety. We need to protect the children and stop all these sickos by keeping them away and out of schools!

Stories like this make me appreciate teachers like my grade 12 social studies substitute even more. We girls didn’t whisper very quietly, so he knew we thought he was cute. He put clear and firm boundaries in place with all of the students; no hugs, for example. A couple of us got away with a ‘thanks for everything’ handshake at the very end of the semester.

Parkland High School in Allentown, PA is having a similar situation.
Former Arts Director and Choral Teacher Francis Anonia is under investigation for an incident in 2021 but his victims stretch back over a decade prior, and his former student-turned-fiance also abused students after he graduated himself and was charged with possession of CP.
I witnessed this teacher and his fiance being intimate on school grounds when the fiance was still student too as a student myself over a decade ago and several teachers insinuated I was homophobic for having issue with it, and brushed me off. Several other former students also reported this as well as his abuse of other students. Many of the people responsible for sweeping what he did under the rug have since retired, including the English teacher who ran the winter theater show, and the initial superintendent that he worked under.

you think it’s so crazy and absurd until it happens at your high school too, literally a year or two after i graduated our theater department teacher who was always weird but nobody had proof of him doing anything wrong, i looked him up and had charges from the 90s and yet was still hired at my high school. less than a year later he gets arrested for being involved with someone in MY grade. insanity.
I cannot believe this on Law & Crime. Our community is reeling about this.. I cannot believe the school district would hire teachers with a criminal background. I just pray for all the victims and the rest of the teaching staff that had nothing to do with it.
Its been discussed widespread here in Cowlitz County and we just cannot believe how it kept being swept under the rug! People even complained that a Tik Tok'er from across the country was making a "fuss" about it. Thats what the letterssent out to the parents said!!! One thing I didn't hear addressed in this coverage was the tape line put on the ground and the students were told not to cross it. Have these details been confirmed anywhere??
My soccer coach who also taught math was rumored to be a creep for more than 20 years before he was finally caught with a student. he was allowed to quietly leave the school and move out of state, no legal consequences at all for him.

There was a creepy teacher at my private high school, he would set his junk (with pants on) on the girls desk ALL THE TIME. He would walk up real close to the corner of your desk, roll up on his toes for clearance, and when he flattened his feet back he’d be resting his package on the corner of your desk. 🤢🤮 We all complained but the school never did anything… Thinking about him still gives me the heebie jeebies.
As a social worker and therapist, I love seeing a TikToker using his platform to call out abusers. Sometimes "the system:" lets things falls through the cracks and this guy took it to the streets and made things happen!
Wow, it's shocking to hear that the problem was so widespread at a public school and district that there were massive cover-ups and bullying of staff who tried to help. Were mandated reports being made? Were the cops ever called? What about contacting the press? I'm trying to understand how this was an open secret, as the TikToker claimed, for so long. Fenton highschool at Bensenville Illinois is facing the same issues. There were multiple reports of a teacher having relations with students and he wasn't busted until recently. Never stop putting the focus on these schools. They'll never learn otherwise.

Homeschool is just as tricky in the opposite way, because a lot of people who abuse their kids get caught when the kids go to school and tell somebody. So predators take advantage of their kids never going to school and potentially telling a classmate or a teacher about their parent or uncle or grandparent abusing them.

In high school there was an assistant principal the girls all knew to stay away from. He was creepy and weird. When he resigned because he took another job one of my teachers made a joke that they thought about getting a newspaper to where he was moving so she could see when they “finally arrest” him. I don’t know if the guy ever did anything but he was always trying to look down girls shirts and stuff.

My daughter told me about her World History/Theater Arts teacher being inappropriate with girls. I told her to go to the counselor who said "Mr. Kennedy? Noooo wayyy!" Then i started asking around town to young high-schoolers. Funny, i got anonymous texts with pictures of him hugging girls behind the curtain inappropriately. I went to the police chief. His 1st response was "i thought he was batting for the other side" and after i told him im going to the superintendent after this he saud he was on his way and he'd tell him. Later that day my daughter was switched from his class and nothing was done until a yr later. When Mr Kennedy was caught with the superintendent's runaway daughter, in Louisiana, at a bar, inside a casino, serving her drinks. 🙃

Yuck. Reminded me of my old grade 7/8 teacher that ended up as principal of our small rural Catholic school. It was known between all of us girls in the class that he was always leering or creeping up behind us while we’d be sitting at our desks. We’d catch him looking down our shirts and he’d breathe on our necks with his nasty halitosis breath. I would just hold my breath while he’d stand behind me hoping he’d leave 🤢 I ended up leaving that school because I couldn’t stand being in his classroom

I can't even begin to explain how appalled I am about Mr. Stearns. He was my choir teacher when he worked at Fowler Middle school in 2012 and i remember being so upset that he had left suddenly and was hearing rumors about things he would do or say to other students. No words.

When I was 16 in the UK, a classmate said the school caretaker (janitor in the US) was her boyfriend. He definitely looked older to me, probably somewhere in his late 20s. I would see her & her friends in the playground with him all the time. Back then, I never saw anything wrong with it, now I realise it was probably grooming. Unfortunately, the age of consent here is 16, but it's still really creepy

In fact many SA victims are some of the highest attending students. Groomed to feel special and 'loved'. There are at least 6 other reasons far more common for kids dropping out.
Im sorry, but "afraid to lose my job!" Is not a valid excuse and they should be prosecuted as such. The punishnent for staying silent in these situations should be greater than if they spoke up and got punished. I'm almost positive all teachers are mandatory reporters but yeah.
There are lots of teacher predators out there.
There was a teacher at my school who has recently been imprisoned for very inappropriate behaviour with a male student in the 80s and 90s. Always knew there was something about him, but as a kid, you don't know what it is.
My brother and I had a history teacher who was violent with the students. If he saw someone talking while he was teaching he would throw the chalk in his hand at that person like he was trying to strike out a batter in the 7th game of a World Series. When my brother had him he saw this same teacher throw a student against the lockers.
He left the school after winning the lottery! We need to work on our own peace of mind because there’s very little justice in this world. It’s hard, I know. I had a violent father and at age 66 I still have nightmares about him.
In 1976-78 I was SA’d by a middle school teacher. I got the courage to report it in 1992. Was told due to statute of limitations the teacher was untouchable and he remained working at the school unhindered until his retirement. 🤯
When school and church officials say they take these issues seriously, I know immediately they're lying.

Stories like this make me appreciate teachers like my grade 12 social studies substitute even more. We girls didn’t whisper very quietly, so he knew we thought he was cute. He put clear and firm boundaries in place with all of the students; no hugs, for example. A couple of us got away with a ‘thanks for everything’ handshake at the very end of the semester.
