    I owned this pair of speaker. bought it with my own money, I was sceptics at first, 'till I gave it a try at the local store that sell this beast, the storekeeper were kinda cool that I spent almost 15mins trying out the display unit via Bluetooth connection. Whatever this guy is telling you is true, it's really impressive for a speaker this size. Been using it for around 8 months now & it still rocks! Recommended! Worth every pennies spent on it

    These are great speakers. Clear, detail and nice range of mids and highs. Add a subwoofer and you get a nice 2.1 system. And no static and hissing you get on some powered speakers or even amplified speakers. The EQ really works when i need to switch between movies, music and gaming. But seriously adding the Edifier T5 subwoofer made it even a bigger upgrade, especially in movies when the bass is needed.

It's unfortunate that it can't be disabled and that the company thought it was a good "feature" in the first place. I had the speakers sitting in boxes for longer than I've used them because I couldn't stand the sounds. Finally decided to break them out again and tolerate it because they work so well.

    To be clear, referencing your comment at 3:31, there's nothing wrong with a flat eq profile when gaming. The advantage of "gaming" speakers is their focus on imaging/soundstage.

    • @theonlyredspecial
      @theonlyredspecial 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you are reading a bit much into that. I like a flat profile for some things but it’s true that for gaming and depending on your speakers profile that adding a bit of colour can give them more impact. You aren’t focusing so much on a bit of ‘over colorisation’ when gaming rather than listening to a 24 bit Qobuz flac for instance when you want that acoustic guitar more ‘pure’.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I myself enjoy gaming with a flat eq profile, I mentioned this for those that may have no experience with flat profiles may not like it.

    Personally I think this about forty quids worth of speaker (using the word 'worth' very loosely), forty quid of LED RGB and forty quid of "gaming" prefix mark up. If you want to actually review speakers you have to be prepared to take them apart and identify components, and make direct comparison with the competition with blind A/B testing. Yes such comparisons are subjective, but if you studied music then you know about psycho-acoustics, so if you haven't factored that in, then your 'review' just comes across as an infomercial for Edifier. Personally when I get a whiff of infomercial, then I won't bother watching future videos from that channel.
    These speakers are directly comparable to a wide range of smaller sized desktop speakers from Presonus, Alesis, M-Audio, Mackie, etc., many of which are much cheaper, though happily lacking quite so much RGB. Yes they have pretensions to flat frequency response and call themselves 'monitors', but since this is a fairly absurd claim from any speaker costing around £100, the reality is that their pretensions are only as ludicrous as many other marketing claims that strive to defy the laws of physics. The difference is that the manufacturers of such products know damn well that reviewers within the music production press will make direct comparisons with other products in a highly competitive market, and won't give a free pass just because the product has pretty lights!
    Gamers Nexus has been showing the way forward for many years. If you're not prepared to pretty much destroy a product in the process of identifying its components, design and manufacturing qualities, or lack thereof, then don't call the information you present a 'review'. This is especially needed when a company has clearly gone out of its way to make a product difficult to dismantle or repair, which is much the same as planned obsolescence.
    I really want KitGuru as a UK channel to excel, so I've tried to make this comment as constructive as possible, but it's not a response to this particular video, just something that's been brewing in response to a broad range of PC peripheral "reviews" from KitGuru, which are anything but - for some reason you do a much better job with actual PC components, maybe because they don't have to be sent back?
