I think another great option would be one of the small non-powered mixers that many manufacturers make. For under $100 you can get several tracks, each with it's own eq and usually a couple with phantom power, an effects loop, and more.
Great video. Can i have a question? Planning to get a live, but i am not sure for the lack of a Phantom Power in. To fix that, can i plug, via USB my focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and Send the output of the soundcard to the in of the Live? Does the USB Power the soundcard? Thank u, and Sorry for my english.
I can't get my sound to a right volume when recording loops the WAV file on the display is very small also the input is not even reaching -9 when I put the input volume on the back on the max the sound gets distorted when I increase the volume on the mixer same result but it adds noise... When I record it with a small wavfile on the screens display the volume is too low when u then normalize it it just sounds terrible... What to do?
Yes. Make sure to use one of the instrument inputs one the 1002b. Then you can send a line out of the mixer into the MPC lives line level inputs in the back.
Behringer HD404 or HD202 made by midas the guys who made neutron, these are not only sound cards but can be used stand alone😁 yeah Will did well that day...
Right. I have been thinking about mentioning them, but I haven't tested them so I wasn't sure if you could direct monitor with out being connected to a computer. You are saying can be stand alone so it could be a nice solution for $100. 👍 Yes, good information. Glad to share Will's video. 👍
@@MatthewStratton The HD404 is outstanding, and rivals most other audio interfaces..and alot of mixers.....bargain!! Yeah I did the research because of the input on live, for me was best all round solution....but when I plugged it in...well I through the NI one away😂 You still got zoom mixer? How you finding it?
@@InkyDaCaT Heck yeah I still have the zoom mixer. I love the fact that I can record right to the SD card. I can record individual tracks, and the master mix.
I have a question. If I have a drum loop and I decide to play into the looper. Is there anyway that once I stop playback and press it again that the looper will also trigger. Very inconvenient to have to go back to the Looper menu or window and press play especially in a live performance...
It really is the wrong name for it. If they would make the clip programs directly able to record audio tracks into it...it would change things a bit. I guess you can use audio tracks as live loop tracks...that would probably work well.

Thanks for this!

Right on. Thanks for the comment.
Thank You! I just ordered one and was disappointed only the mpc has instrument input!

Matthew. Cant i just send my guitar through my audio interface that does have preamps and then route into the mpc?
Sure. That would be another way of doing it if it has instrument level inputs. Definantly use what you already have. 👍
P.S I would like a in-person class we you one day. This thing is intimidated
