Every year was the same after that. Spent it alone with only my games to keep me company I searched something to help with loneliness and you never cease to stop popping up in the search with videos to help me when I really need it. I've never been to prom either. I regret it now. A couple days after my junior year prom, a girl who I sort of knew told me she was taking me to next year's prom because I told her I had never been. She never asked me when prom came around, and I spent that night the way I spent most nights, alone in my room playing Skyrim. It still hurts, and that was 5 years ago. Now that I think about it, maybe she was expecting me to ask her. But I had no idea how to even approach her just to talk, how the hell would I have asked her to prom? Having Autism sucks. I feel like I unintentionally pushed her away just because my Autism manifests as social anxiety and lack of expression, which makes me seem anti-social and uninterested. It was only recently that I've experienced having friends in my co-workers. Sorry for this wall of text. I just started typing and it just all came out. I guess I needed to vent.
That last line, right at the very end, gave me so many feelings. Quality voice acting, Dollface. Real talk though: Am I the only person who went to prom alone and still had an amazing time?

I saw the working part of the day through then when asked to attend I replied “the last few years have been a complete and excruciating waste of time, see you all in hell.” And it was a girl that asked me to attend. Still a very good vid, even though I can’t enjoy it it’s good that others can make the most of it, job well done.

I don’t know why I keep coming back to this video. Every time I listen to this I cry cause I know that in reality nobody would ever give a shit about me.
I'm sorry if this script or series made you feel that way. I wrote it to provide comfort and positivity from a negative moment in my own life. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and everyone's tunnel is a different length. It's supposed to show that happy endings do exist. Sure it takes a while to get there, but when you finally get there, you appreciate it that much more. At least I will once I reach that ending for myself. So until then, keep on trucking through the tunnel. Let people around you help guide you in some way to the light. And if you're alone, think of it as if you have more control over how you move through the tunnel. It will be rough, sure, but I know you can do it. We all can. Just gotta keep on trucking through. I had my first prom a few months ago (before quarantine). My school decided that instead of allowing the students to ask someone to become their partner, they were the ones who picked out our partners for us. Of course this led to many people disagreeing but in the end, we had no choice. I did not care at all since my only goal was to perform with my band (we were a bit popular at school as a band but not individualy). Im not sure if im considered lucky but i got partnered with one of the "famous" girls in our batch. She was really beautiful, inside and out. But i had no interest in her since i was focused on my hobbies. (She was also dating a player of our school's basketball team. He's actually a really good guy). So everything was fine until we had our last dance. My partner was with her boyfriend of course while I, an introvert, decided that instead of asking someone to dance. I just went back to my group's table and ate with my band's drummer This is where the good stuff starts. While i was talking with the drummer, a girl in this mint green dress approached us. (she and the drummer were cousins) she whispered something to my friend. My friend suddenly decides to go to the restroom. So it was just me and her. I knew her name and i often see her at school. She asked me if i wanted to dance. i was an idiot, i declined her offer and continued to sit at the table by myself. Well i had my own reasons to decline but they are so not worth it. Prom ended and a couple of my friends slept at my house. I told them about the girl with the mint green dress. The first thing they said was that i was an idiot and i should have accepted her offer. I could not sleep that night. When classes started again. I developed this crush on her but i couldnt tell her. My friends actually carried me across the gym just to take me to her but i used all the self-defense skills i had learned to stop them. I had many chances to tell her about my feelings but the Corona virus happened and i heard that she was moving. She wont probably see this so ill just say it now. I like you. Im sorry about what happened at prom. You only probably invited me to dance since you pitied me. But either way, i should have danced with you. So to the few people who have read this. Take your shot, dont fear rejection. You might regret not saying anything.

That's it, I'm invested
I had my first prom a few months ago (before quarantine). My school decided that instead of allowing the students to ask someone to become their partner, they were the ones who picked out our partners for us. Of course this led to many people disagreeing but in the end, we had no choice. I did not care at all since my only goal was to perform with my band (we were a bit popular at school as a band but not individualy).
Im not sure if im considered lucky but i got partnered with one of the "famous" girls in our batch. She was really beautiful, inside and out. But i had no interest in her since i was focused on my hobbies. (She was also dating a player of our school's basketball team. He's actually a really good guy).
So everything was fine until we had our last dance. My partner was with her boyfriend of course while I, an introvert, decided that instead of asking someone to dance. I just went back to my group's table and ate with my band's drummer
This is where the good stuff starts.
While i was talking with the drummer, a girl in this mint green dress approached us. (she and the drummer were cousins)
she whispered something to my friend.
My friend suddenly decides to go to the restroom. So it was just me and her. I knew her name and i often see her at school. She asked me if i wanted to dance. i was an idiot, i declined her offer and continued to sit at the table by myself. Well i had my own reasons to decline but they are so not worth it.
Prom ended and a couple of my friends slept at my house. I told them about the girl with the mint green dress. The first thing they said was that i was an idiot and i should have accepted her offer. I could not sleep that night.
When classes started again. I developed this crush on her but i couldnt tell her. My friends actually carried me across the gym just to take me to her but i used all the self-defense skills i had learned to stop them. I had many chances to tell her about my feelings but the Corona virus happened and i heard that she was moving.
She wont probably see this so ill just say it now.
I like you. Im sorry about what happened at prom. You only probably invited me to dance since you pitied me. But either way, i should have danced with you.
So to the few people who have read this.
Take your shot, dont fear rejection. You might regret not saying anything.
