You can tell Cell intended to challenge the final flash head on, but when he noticed this attack was different, he moved. Thats why only his side was incinerated.

Instead of powering up, I always believe Vegeta pushed the added power he possessed from USSJ Grade 3 (What Trunks powered up to) into that Final Flash, which is why Cell had to move.
💡 Remember that Trunks had actually exceeded Cell's brute strength.
Been waiting for this episode , the Final Flash charge is one of the most ridiculous yet awesome sequences of animation

Fun fact Toriyama stated If Cell took the fully powered final flash head on as he originally intended and didn't dodge/move to the side at the last second, he would've be completely disintegrated.
Cell realised this at the last second second hence why he was like "what's this?! Oh shi move" but the side of his body still got clipped.

Vegeta showed that he did have great power, Because despite Cell being perfect, he was able to hurt him.
Piccolo's cells were what helped him.
Vegeta has epic attacks, Galick Gun, Big Bang Attack, Final Flash, (Final Shine Attack from GT & in most games). All of his blasts have different colors as well which is pretty cool.
This episode still gives me chills man. Instead of Vegeta throwing a temper tantrum, he this time, put all of that rage into one attack. I’m assuming the Final Flash is an improved version of the Galick Gun. I could be wrong. If you see the “German Final Flash”, check it out. It’s so hilarious!

What in the f.... Did she say??? I hope gohan gets mad and he will kill cell??? If im not mistaken, out of all reactors i've seen lately, she is the only one to mention that possibility this early and with such certainty. Id guess once the cell games start she'll guess gohan will fight before goku says it.

Just imagine, Trunks lost everybody in the future, including his father. He knows Vegeta's pride is everything to him. Trunks knew if he joined the fight, or powered up in Vegeta's presence would ruin his pride. Vegeta would rather die than let this happen.

12:53 Well, there's a thing about hair-growth with Saiyans that's stated in a few episodes (probably not important, so I'll just say it): their hair doesn't grow. It stays the same from birth, so he'd remain bald (unless they used a wish for it to grow back, I'd assume).

pride is what motivates Vegeta to get up in the morning, if he lost pride in himself then he would lose what gave him purpose, its not something as simple as you two make it out to be
Yes I know he has pride, but being foolish has nothing to do with pride. For me this moment was more arrogance that got in his way instead of pride. I respect the Saiyan pride, but I have no respect for arrogance that you can't back up. But that's my opinion though.
Half Sayins have the potential to surpass their full blooded offspring, hench why Gohan when he recieves the SSJ 2 powers is able to surpass his father (Goku). In this Trunks Sayin form (people called it Ultra Super Sayin) where this form will give him raw power and muscle mass density, but the drawback is he wouldn't be able to catch his opponents with his muscles being in that form.

Even Vegeta's Final Flash won't do anything, he's trying for nothing. This attack will completely exhaust its strength.
Cell in this form basic power level would be able to destroy the planet and much more at maximum charge.
11:00 Gohan is very beautiful now in this stage. It is clearly visible that he has exceeded SSJ full power and is going more forward for SSJ 2 and is fully ready to reach this new power level.
