I don’t usually spend time writing comments on vids like these but this guy is fantastic. I followed the video instructions AND the Amazon links for purchase and I now have a Gen 3 4Runner with amazingly bright LEDs. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I’m a fan of your channel now. You made this SO easy man.
Dude you make 100% pure quality videos thumbs up for sure brotha 👍
great tip on the special relay for LEDs!
Nice install. I did the same thing last month with the all clear tail lights on my 99.
Awesome video. Just what I needed to see. I admire your garage and how clean and neat everything is. Thanks.
I love project SportRunner content. Thumbs up for me.
Love the 3rd gen I'm curious as to what the future holds for Project SportRunner!
Love your knowledge as always. Thanks for the video.
I’m a big fan of leds, great video 👍
Great video. Not sure if it was the camera angle but I did not see much difference in intensity between the incandescent bulbs versus the LED when you tested them on the truck. Would have been good to see them at night.
My 2002 didn’t have fog lights but it does have the wiring , I bought after market round LED fog lights and have to figure out a bracket to mount them the bad part is my light switch doesn’t have the fog lamp mode on it which means I would have to replace the turn signal switch to or run new wires an mount a toggle switch , I replaced my over head lights with LED but I was really disappointed as I thought they would be much brighter and the rear dome , had the truck four months now and I’ve been going thru it doing replacement of old and worn out stuff , battery, valve cover gasket’s, pct valve and grommet , spark plugs , wires , it’s like the more I do on her the more I’m luv’n it , 187,578 miles on it a purrs like a kitten 👍
I was able to get a turn signal stalk that included the fog light switch from the dealer and it just plugged right in.
Yay!! The 4runner!!!!
Glad to see im not the only one that swapped out the flasher relay for an electronic instead of wiring in resistors.
Speedy's Garage thank you for feeling the same way 😂. I hate resistors
Great video, I just bought the same taillights from burtman, can't wait to install them.
Any idea what sizes I need to replace all interior lights, perhaps even color replacement bulbs for the cluster? And where I might find them. Love the detailed work. Keep it up
I can't remember off the top of my head, but if you go to some of the LED sites you can put in the year and make and it'll tell ya.
3rd Gens!!
I need this lights back and front for my 3rd gen "99 . Pls link me up. From Nigeria. Thanks
I bought these same style lights from ebay. Mine came with a ballast so it was really plug and play. Same install steps no relays needed.
I've heard the ebay ones can have LEDs burnout pretty quick. Keep us posted how they hold up.
I've had them for 2 years now they are still looking good very bright and no issues.
Ok so what if you have the flashing issue when you apply the brakes...mine is flashing 3 times then holds solid red . Any idea. Great video. New sub
I have a 97 and changed everything to led, and used a relay too but it didn't have the knob on the back. Everything works fine, but driving above 60mph with foot on the throttle the rpm fluctuates *only when I use the indicators... weird but I'm thinking something with that relay, since this only happend after I switched to leds... or maybe its messing with the throttle position sensor circuit
Could this be the issue with my dad's 20019 Toyota 4runner its lights flashed several different times tonight and no one has been inside the car
Awesome stuff. I plan on doing th same time my 99T4R. Question, do you have a link to where I can get the switches you used located on you dash at time 20:38
I really like to know about rims on your 4runner what size are they and name of rims
Were can I get those
Hey dude, great video as always. Why was it necessary to change your taillights . Why not just change the brake/tail lights to LED? Super curious thanks
Yeah wondering if the whole Tail light assembly needed to be swapped, and could achieve similar result with just bulb swaps?
@@boombeefno need to swap out the whole tail light. I just swapped out all my bulbs to LED and had no issues, aside of rapid blinking but that has nothing to do with the tail lights.
Link to these tail lights please
I recently did this exact swap thanks to your video, but did you have your ABS light come on after? I read some forums on T4R's and apparently it's related to the 3rd brake light led swap?
What is the tint to the 4RUNNER
Ordered these lights about a week ago. How long did they take to come in?
I put my rear led tail lights but the ABS light turned on any recommendations?
hyper flash is good though, it really lets distracted drivers know youre switching lanes and to pay attention. i let mine roll. and its better than dealing with relay swapping
NO bueno. Looks like someone cheaped out on the install when I see that. Relay swap is cheap and took me like 1 minute.
@@SpeedysGarage but you DO notice the blinker... normal blinking rates can be white noise to people.
Haven't even watched the whole thing yet, but thumbs up for 3rd Gen 4Runner content 👍
