Following your journey the past few videos. Would be curious on updates after you move. 1. Everything sounds super super stressful. No shame in crying at any age. But please get your eye issue checked out by an optometrist. 2. Staying in one place sounds way more stable. The circumstances aren't great but the result of staying in one place will probably be good for you. 3. Two jobs is a lot! Give yourself a pat on the back for doing it. And Hawaii is insanely expensive, definitely makes things tougher for you and your family. 4. If you have interest in YT, maybe you could pursue being a video editor as a career?
First of all, thanks for following me on my lil journey! I will be posting more and maybe a room tour once things settle down and yes I made an appointment and the first one avail was in like 3 weeks (its this week). I totally agree with your second point which is why I chose to stay in once place. It is so common for people to have more than one job in Hawaii just to survive so its comes with the territory unfortunately lol. I love youtube but my least favorite thing is editing, I am more of the story teller in front of the camera as you can probably tell by the lack of editing in my videos. I will try to perfect my videos as they go on so I hope you continue to follow my journey! :)
Stay strong. I'm a decade older than you and I'm probably more mentally messed up than when I was your age. My only advice is get a Bachelors degree and try to get a decent job. Life sadly is just working for 30-40 years and then retiring. Unless you can get a high paying job and speed run the whole process in 25 years. I don't know much about Hawaii's job market, but it may even require moving stateside for some time.
Yes I totally agree, living in Hawaii is so expensive and many people choose to move, but I am used to a small community and my whole family is basically here. I am getting my degree in december hopefully so then I will find a big girl job(s) and work for the next 50 yrs :| I mean unless this youtube thing works out then I can invest in real estate and stocks, thats the dream. I think the best thing I can do is stay strong and hopeful yet realistic. Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it!
Why not work in retail for now? You seem to really like shops and window-shopping so why not apply to some of these stores and get a job working there? You would make better money, enjoy being there, and get a large percentage off the items they sell lol lush would be a good fit for you actually and you get a ton of free products as a perk. I hope you are pursuing something you are genuinely interested in at school so your Degree will be worthwhile. You also need to be a bit more realistic about your goals- thinking that it would take only one year to get big on TH-cam when it has taken others years and years to get successful online and they made far more labor-intensive videos. If you like daily vlog type of videos...go watch someone like Daisy Choi who literally records...NOTHING worthwhile all day lol yet has millions of subscribers simply because here content is aesthetically pleasing for them. While realistic depictions fo life is something that I prefer, this type of content isn't as popular unfortunately. At least maybe invest in some lighting equipment- there are super cheap items on Ali Express that you can buy to make your videos better quality...consider your background too...maybe clean your room a bit, make your bed, make it look appealing to the eye when someone is watching your videos. Sometimes it only takes a few seconds to grab someone's attention and aesthetics play a huge role in this current generation....it is gross and a sad truth but it is reality, I hope this advise finds you well. You seem to be overwhelmed with not having a purpose in life and not having a passion so I suggest you look within yourself and consider what would make you the happiest. If travel is it, then go teach English abroad and record videos of yourself getting to know your new surroundings and new country. If making arts and crafts is your thing, then record some fun videos of trying out new crafts and not just charms. Sit down and brainstorm, you know? You have to change up what isn't working if you want to achieve something instead of continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different outcome. Hope this helps!!
Thanks, I tend to overthink and my whole life was filled with uncertainty. I would love to be all aesthetic and such but I am just not sadly. Also, I have been making minimum wage working retail for the past 5 years which is why I got a second job while trying to do this and being a full time college student. Lush was actually my dream job until they shut down all the ones in Hawaii so it was funny you mentioned that. I know my videos are not great, but they just make me happy and give me a purpose to wake up everyday viral or not.
This video made me feel very seen and lifted my spirits. I hope you have only positive things coming your way!
Aww I am so glad you felt seen and thank you for supporting me! I hope you have positive things coming your way as well!
