    This show ended after the 1980-81 season, although syndicated shows bicycled then and the shows might not have aired on the same week in every city, this is most likely a rerun broadcast. Dottie West as per IMDB was the musical guest on the (week of) 10/17/1980 episode. Bowzer's next TV gigs didn't have him as a greaser, as the host in the 1983-84 season of Pop N Rocker Game and the recently airing in reruns Match Game Hollywood Squares house

      I remember watching the show in the evening on maybe Monday or Tuesday nights when I lived in the Detroit telly market. A move at the end of summer 1979 dropped me in a town where, without the motivation to read through the tv guide, I didn't find out for MONTHS that Sha Na Na aired early on Sunday afternoons. On weekend afternoons I always had things I'd rather be doing than watching tv, so I only saw one more show.

    Donny sang a great version of "Puppy Love"...not sure if the first two girls were really into it, but the third girl definitely was; she made eye contact with Donny and smiled.🌞 The fourth girl didn't even have to be walked to the stage; she ran right up there!(lol). Good for her! I wonder if any or all of them remember that special time in their lives?😊

    Walkin' The Dog and Mustang Sally... sound an awful lot alike or it just me? These young girls are now in their early 50's. I'm sure this is a special memory they still talk about. I would also think the girls were not picked randomly ... you wouldn't want some kid deciding to be camera shy at the last moment. This show was corny but it was geared for kids. Five or seventy five you could watch this show. I loved it for the music but I still got plenty of laughs, too.

    Ugh, this, Hee-Haw, and Laurence Welk were all variety shows I hated as a kid in the 70's. Maybe this format was a Boomer thing... now 40 years later and I just watched this again...still hate it. I was honestly more entertained by the vintage commercials than the actual show itself. Sorry guys!

    • @creatinotionchannel2680
      @creatinotionchannel2680 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was a kid back then and loved variety shows - this, Donny and Marie, Carol Burnett, Sonny and Cher, even right on down to Shields and Yarnell, Captain and Tenille, and Tony Orlando and Dawn. And Muppet Show. But yes the corny humor goes back to the 50s - even Vaudeville. If I like the personalities involved and/or the musical numbers then it is all up my alley. But I totally get it not being some peoples cup of tea. Very nostalgic for me.
