  • Searching through the float for tumble worthy Jasper at Lavic “Field”, CA. The process of elimination. What I pick out for tumbling and what I feel won’t be worth the time or grit.

I love me some lavic jasper! I’m definitely going once more this year before the heat kicks in. It was mind boggling parking out there, opening the car door and seeing jasper scattered everywhere

First time I went I opened my car door and there was jasper right there and I wasn’t even near the collection site!

The thumbnail for this video was the result of a full day of rockhounding at that location. It’s some of the most satisfying rough to polish.

@@Gene.Guazzo what some of mine resemble. Love them. They are a special stone unto the Lord, to me resembles blood.

Hey Gene! I have tumbled some of that before and it tumbles great. At the time, I think that was the shiniest batch of rocks I had ever done.
Have you started a fire with that omaroluk yet?

Hey Rob! Thanks for taking a look. I agree, the outcome was awesome. That location was my first outing, a little over three years ago. Your videos got me hooked, no joke. Thanks for the time you put into your videos for us all to enjoy.

Oh, wow I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to let you know how the Omaroluk worked. Great! Making a fire using a bow-drill is one of the harder ways for me to get a fire going. I’ve been waiting for my next overnight rockhounding adventure to video a rockhound making a campfire using it. It’s very cool to have such a unique stone!
