Thanks. I guess I'm gonna pull a trigger on this one. I can always return it on Amazon if I'm not happy :D. The magenta shift is a bit concerning, but this will drift to green overtime. I guess that's the reason.
Yes. If you are doing corporate work, using a name brand (although not necessary for the job) will give you more of a professional edge. You might be able to get away with a 300 or two, depending on the type of interview.
The head cable seems short. If you mount the light high up (e.g. outside a window to simulate sunlight), a short cable forces you to also mount the control box high making it hard to reach and the whole thing top heavy. But a long cable causes power loss. So maybe include one long and one short cable? Also with cables connected, you cannot stand the control box on the ground. I also don't like the serif font in the display. I look forward to an improved version 2.
When the cable length is 50 feet or longer, that is when voltage loss usually occurs. These cables aren't anywhere near 50 feet. So no worries there. The whole thing was not that great. For me ultimately, it was the huge magenta shift and the lack of wheels on the case that made this a no go for me. I also sprained my wrist picking this thing up, so... Maybe a version 2, but probably not for a while. It is nice to see GVM moving in to the pro space. They've come a very long way from being a brand that no one has ever heard of on Amazon.
The chapert markers are at the bottom of the discription. I've been having a problem with TH-cam posting my chapter markers. Still working on getting that fixed.
Nope. It said it was new. It might not have been used. This might have been what they did in the factory to keep the cases straight. I just found it a little weird. And that's "if" it is truly new. But I don't think it is.

Very detailed and informative video. Thank you for your honest review and advices.
I'm very excited to take a look at this one. It's an interesting light for sure.
Thank you for sharing. I am looking to purchase a light. Would you prefer the Aputure 600x for corporate interviews?

this looks good!
Thanks for sharing, but could you please add chapters? This video is really long.

25 minutes is not long. TH-cam is not tik tok
Srsly 14 volts not 26 for a 600 watter?
Great review bud. Do you have any modifiers you've tested with it like softboxes or fresnels? Nanlite FL20G is the one I am curious about.
Just with third party modifiers. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a hold of the GVM modifiers.
It’s not fitting… tested it myself :(
@@mabitzz9484what's not fitting, other 3rd party modifiers?
I wish you have measured the real output of your unit. They promise 21600 lux at 5600K, mine generates 14000 lux, so just 2/3 of what is promised :(.
Usually I do, but my spectrometer is on the fritz, so I had to send it out to be fixed. I'm not surprised by that at all though.
Just want to point out that you can adjust Tint in the GVM App
There is no tint control. You can match sources, but there is no plus minus green/magenta shift directly.
Did you know you were purchasing a used unit?

That paper tag was annoying to see dangling.
I was returning it. So I didn’t want to take it off.
