So many people in these comments have no idea what perplexity is or does. He’s aware it’s a wrapper. But he also says hey, it’s really hard to make a good wrapper. And they did honestly. It’s a great product I use for research all the time. The fact you can focus down to academic, or TH-cam, or wolfram alpha, or even Reddit, is awesome. Citations are awesome to follow to get more. I’ve used it a bunch, I really like it. They don’t have to invest billions into an underlying model. It’s a good business, good product, and I like this guy. Not sure why all the hate.
Nobody will really care if is not an Android app or iOS app.
I worked in medical tech industry , perplexity saves me tons of time on trustable information search and so the efficiency. Those say it’s a wrapper definitely didnt see how it can used practically, somethings that is simple doesn’t mean it is useless
@@univera1111 i've had the iOS app for some time now.
exactly i mean even if they are using the same infrastructure, they are trying to build something out different models, the APIs, they want the customer experience to be more enhanced, different areas to be focused, easiest way out?yes i do that too and nothing's wrong with that, so let the invester invest in them.
Despite his sleepy eyes, he's so honest and to the point, unlike any other CEOs I've seen. Probably that's why his answer engine is so good.
Perplexity is another example of the AI bubble and exuberance. How many employees perplexity has? about 50. They use Microsoft and OpenAI infrastructure and they optimize ChatGPT to make their "AI" work. So once Microsoft or OpenAI decide to shut down Perplexity's access to their infrastructure Perplexity is practically over. Perplexity hasn't created anything and they don't even have own cloud or server infrastructure, but yes it's the future bro...
lol man I said the same thing about Devin AI. A lot of fake visionaries popping up, getting billion valuations. This is literally a prompt chain. This is a feature, not a product.
That's not true, perplexity has a different model altogether, investors are not fools
Welcome to the 21st century of industrialization and specialization, in case you got thawed from a capsule.
I guess Jeff Bezos is not fool😂
@@memtubeofficial3303 yes, we all saw how smart he was when he invested in Rivian... and then Amazon had to write it down as a complete loss.
I hope Perplexity makes it. I really like the idea of just asking questions and getting answers instead of hoping on multiple sites. If required I'll click on the citation to read it further. No time to waste.
Another thing that i like about it when you are pursuing a topic and you went deep into the conversation, all of your thread is saved as a single history rather than multiple page history as we see in traditional search engines.
As much I would like to see startups succeed, Perplexity is not bringing anything game-changing to the table.
Chatgpt4o blew Perplexity out of the water. This voice thing is simply mind blowing. I cancelled my perplexity subscription and reactivated my ChatGPT sub in a hurry.
I don't care i dont use of the two , i use Google
for what puroposes you have used them?
Do you understand chatgpt and perplexity does not do the same thing
1) they’ve had that voice feature for a long while now. It’s great! But not new. 2) ChatGPT and perplexity are different businesses. Sure, use the voice feature, but if you ever want info not determined by tokenizing the internet and want cited information, you won’t get that from ChatGPT. I have subs to both, and use them in different ways.
good choice!
Love how he speaks fast. Hope he stays the same. This guy is going places
Perplexity cites Reddit as sources. How on earth are they raising money
perplexity is really good
Truly incredible! 🚀
Perplexity's days are numbered. They know it.
once google implements AI search internationally, might be over for perplexity
@@joeysherrett google want to protect their business model perplexity does opposite to google model
@@joeysherrettHave you seen Google’s A.I. search lately? It’s absolutely atrocious.
@@Tweeting_dataGoogle could take their interface and generate a page that still includes their ads.
Yeah they rely on others for the data. If you think of it as a browser of sorts it has some valuable but you right they have a window that will close.
i just dont understand perplexity's niche, google is putting more and more AI into their searches, bing has copilot, even openai is looking to do search. Apple will start using openai for siri replacement. Curious any perplexity users, whats your use case, that cant be done with copilot?
Api access to current affairs without the fluff. Even the way headlines appear can give you a sense about the real facts.
When Google started and dominated there were plenty of other search engines. Google just did it better. Perplexity will exist as long as it does A.I. search better than anyone else.
I started with chatgpt and followed by perplexity and now I don't even know chatgpt exist. Perplexity is really good with less hallucinations.
I don't understand why I would choose Perplexity AI over ChatGPT. When they're using chatGPT themselves
ability to search the web
@@joeysherrett Chat-GPT can search the web.

Tell me you never used perplexity without telling me you never used it!
Better performance less censorship less Hallucinations
can Perplexity AI or Chatgpt solve a IIT JEE question of Olympiad Question ?
Im using perp for so long man! it helped me so much but it needs much improvement too
Seems like Google or Apple should just but this wrapper as they seem to have a nice interface for search.
It’s like chatgp and Wikipedia have a baby??? What could go wrong???
That’s exactly what I thought . In accurate information at its finest
Perplexity doesn't source its responses just from Wikipedia
Lot of boundaries and limitations on AI
ChatGPT has information from Wikipedia.
Products that are easily made receive a lot of media coverage.
cool
Will love to see perplexity succeed, but it probably gonna fail😢
Really wikipedia?
The founder look very nervous
Perplexity is the nextgen search engine.
Chapt gpt O is such a great model. With assistant, it does way more than perplexity. Dont lnow why people use perplexity
You just never used!
@@niranjanbhat9432 have you used GPT-assistants or crew AI agents?
@@AkhilSharmaTech Perplexity is user friendly alternative to Google search. Chatgpt is for different purpose, mostly for API use cases. Now the chatgpt hype is decreased. Nobody search general things on Chatgpt except for programmers and some technical work. For normal search, Perplexity AI is better than gpt 4o even they use gpt 4o api. It is all about use cases
Once google catches up unfortunately it’s over for Perplexity
Sounds awful
Is perplexity is using any API s?
#Indians
i like this guy, i hope he makes it
It's truly inspiring to see how effectively blending language models with search indexes can revolutionize access to information, making it both personalized and precise.🚀
"reasoning engines"
How Perplexity AI is relevant??
Chat gpt 4.o free, can access internet and is more intelligent than Chat gpt 3.
Gemini is free ,advanced or atleast similar to chat gpt 3 and can access internet .
Meta AI is free and is in the level of GPT 4 and it's free.
So why should someone use Perplexity instead of these??
This guy is brilliant and knows his stuff.
Sounds horrible, Wikipedia is cancer, gpt has a long way to go. Gigo
It doesn't just source its information from Wikipedia
Perplexity is really useful; especially the fact that it provides source links but just like any other ai-chat bots it’s not accurate in predicting the content of its response from the very sources it gather these information.
Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia has been investing heavily on Artificial Intelligence
Perplexity is nothing but an 'Android skin' of sorts for chatgpt
Bhai Gutkha thook kar baat kar.!!
No moat against google, this dude is cooked 😬
Why do americans give this guy too much attention ?
Google and Chatgbt have everything
What do you mean by this guy?
@@stoicmanimproving I don't know if you're aware, but alumni from Google, Microsoft, and some impressive individuals (like the man with glasses you mentioned) all attended the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), a prestigious institution known for its talented graduates.
Perplexity is one of those hyped ai products that only managed to scam investors and pump up it's valuation. It did not do anything that chatgpt could not do. Poe on the other hand does provide good value.
You don’t need to worry because only accredited investors can invest in private companies.
@@Cygx it is only obvious that you have not used the app. Foe me, I can not think of anything useful in the net, that is as useful as perplexity in its domain at the moment from my own opinion. i dont even remember using google since i discovered the app. so maybe, you have not spent enough time to use it and observe its amazing potential.
@@Cygx ok Billionaire
iPhone and Android are phones, they both does the same thing. Both are in the market
It sucks
He didnt answer the question about his stack, is that intentional or just avoiding cause its trade craft? The question is what is your stack, how will you maintain the moat -- the answer he gave was we def use some body else's model + something else we do and user doesnt care -- thats a non answer answer, and even after some pushing by the technical person.
