Finally! We're looking at a Biblical story that focuses on two strong, independent women. Join us for 8:30AM Traditional Worship as we continue our summer sermon series The Good Book: Stories of Some Real Characters in the Bible. Ruth and her mother-in-law, Naomi, both find themselves widowed. In the midst of their grief they also have to make some hard decisions about their future as they face the harsh circumstances of being a widow in ancient times. Naomi encourages Ruth to leave her and go back to her parents' household, but Ruth, knowing how vulnerable the older Naomi is, commits to stick with her through whatever comes their way.
As always, as you join us online, we invite you to sing along with the music, participate in call and response liturgy, join us in prayer, engage in the sermon, and celebrate Holy Communion.
