The minions were his many souls so since he spent 30 years killing himself, in a since, so non of them are there until he drinks again it's just alucard. That's why when the minions died they didn't regenerate. Same goes salis if her blood friend get hurt he can die again.

What is quite funny as Millenium accidentally made Alucardeven more powerfull.

Yet the plan would have worked except Alucard is a superior individual if you will. Say Alucard was at a weaker state of mind say when Anderson was dying and became a monster like his memory suggested Shrodinger may have overshadowed Alucard and been successful in destroying him
