The funny thing about Rez's revelation at the end is that if true, it would make sense. Gex spouts movie lines and pop culture references throughout the game. So if it runs in the family, spouting Darth Vader's "I am your father" is exactly something Gex's father would do.
I think the main reason rez didn't scare me as a six year old was because of some pretty heavy personal events on top of the fact that I had seen the old chucky/child's play movies at that point. To this day, I always liked how it went into a first person point of view during the first phase of the fight where rez is trying to dump missiles into you. I never saw that effect at that age so it was mind blowing as hell.
For its time i dare say it was a pretty epic battle and theme aswell. Rez makes a pretty fine antagonist. Wish we seen more Gex games, had plenty of potential in my eyes.
FINALLY i found a video of gex 2 where gex has the voice i grew up with him having. Personally i love this voice i wish gex had this voice in every game!
Dayum this game was like a fever dream when I was little. I missed it so much, and also Rez's design was the first that I feel in love especially with the uncanny valley and sharp teefers!!!
"One day, Gex, I'll be back! I see a future where the world will be obsessed with media, and my power will become unlike anything you've ever seen before! Rez rules your days and your nights! Channel Z will rise again! Ah...AHAHAHAHA!!!"
I've played both versions of 2 and 3, Gex 3 hands down UK version, gex is voiced by the guy who played the cat on red dwarf. gex 2 either is good but personally I like the us version, the voice actor just gives gex that extra level of life in his voice work
During the moments when we are in a first person view of Rez and he's shooting rockets I wouldn't be surprised if those numbers were actual value from RAM being printed on the screen.
I never really found any voice suited Gex really, including this one (and this is the one I played with). This boss is freaky 😱 gotta be very good at the game to make it to the end 👌🏻 👏🏻
6:31 Did he just reference Teletubbies?! This game came out before Teletubbies debuted on PTV Park in April 1998 so it makes sense it was only in the British version.
What's up with Gex's weird voice acting? It sounds nothing like the original game EDIT: Did some research, turns out PAL regions got a different voice actor to rerecord all the lines even though it's in the same language (?)
I hated this fight due to how bad were the Rez hand attack hit boxes. For some reason he could damage me while missing me completely, but hand could go through the button without pressing it :D Design was cool but the mechanics were clunky even for 1998.
Rez's design scared the shit out of me as a kid and fascinated me at the same time.
me too
Your e a masochist
@@Wizard_of_ZaZa more for inflicting than receiving, personally.

For me it was MooShoo Pork. That thing creeped me out

The music is just fantastic! Kept replaying this level just to experience it.
Rez: I AM your father Gex...
Gex: Don't care, plus didn't ask.
Of the greatest boss battles of all time, such a beautiful game

The PS store had this game for PS3 with this godly voice! It's the main reason why I dust it off once in a while
@@flarebuster if this is on the ps store on ps4 i'm downloading it!
Sadly the voice actor Leslie Phillips recently passed away...
‘Note to self don’t drink tap water at Joey Garica’s house!!!’
rez had such a cool design.

Rez's voice was badass

Ah yes , the UK voice . Much better fitting to the character ^^
I didn't know it has an UK version and I loved it
‘This is like, watching cartoons at Stephen Hillenburg’s house!!!’
You just started a war
@@TheHedgememe a war between the voices I prefer the UK version. Seems so much more fitting

Never made it this far in this game.
Amazing world of gum ball, and gex should be great crossover because their basically in the 90s timeline which I think makes sense.
What do you guys think, about this topic?
It probably could work
imagine associating this with rdr2 death scene

This is like that Easter egg hunt at Joe Rogan’s house.
This game is so........HARD!!!
FU#$@%G HARD!!!!
Remember the space level!
It's like star wars when Darth Vader says that he's Lukes father
Smart move to eventually give Gex an american voice.

The UK voice is far better
The actor recently passed away
This isnt the original gex voice, what happened?
This is the UK version.
This is the UK version with Leslie Phillips, you probably grew up with Dana Ghould.

Hahaha I am not used to this voice !
Bagulho Era tenso
Go play footie?…..Can someone translate this into American for me?
