Drewski, I just want to say thank you. I’ve been watching since the middle of the UGF days while I was in undergrad. You helped my get through school, COVID, and grad school! Back in May I graduated with my doctorate and tonight I learned I passed my board exam!
There is an OP shot in this game where you stand just over the centerfield line in the corner by the wall. go full power with you hammer bro while pushing left stick left or right. Goes in almost every time
This game is fun, it's even more fun with actual people rather than CPUs. I'm so glad there's still a small community for it (This, and the other two strikers games as well).
Gamecube was peak in terms of mario sports games. Ive had all nintendo consoles after gamecube and no generation comes nearly close. Mario power tennis best mario tennis (the switch tennis comes close 2dn), mario slugger best mario baseball, mario strikers best mario football although i know people loves the wii version but i played both like crazy and its not even close for me, best mario golf, best mario party's (BY FAR), fuck even mario kart double dash has been the most unique mario kart (not the best). Gamecube in my opinion is the most underrated console to ever exits. It had GEMS after gems .
mario strikers has a really awesome competitive scene too over at discord where we play all the 3 games over there and have fun! I highly recommend this to everyone!
This is one of those games that proves that superior game DESIGN is instrumental in a classic game. They way the game flows seamlessly is due to how clever they can have the players move with relatively less game assets
This is my all time favorite sports series, everything about it is so great and while the switch version was a bit of a let down, the first two games still hold up incredibly well and I hope we can get a proper successor to those two Happy to see Drewski play this and he uses the same team I do which is awesome lol
I literally had group gatherings where we each picked a team in custom cup, and played a full league against each other with playoffs at the end. And everyone loved it. Some matches against AI were definitely rigged. But goals always feel earned

YESSSSSS Legit one of the most addictive games ever. My brother and cousins and I would have 2 or 3 hour long tournaments on this game every Thanksgiving for like 3 years straight. Funniest part of the game is how the goalie literally straight up drop kicks you if you try a power up kick in the box😂

I haven't played in years but I remember trying to beat the Super Bowser Cup on Legend difficulty felt impossible. Like the difficulty actually scales a lot higher than you'd think for a Mario soccer game.

Love the content just thought I would give you an update on some of the slang in football. It’s not a layup it’s a tap-in as in you can tap it in. The horizontal bar is the crossbar but the verticals bars are the posts so it hit the post not the crossbar. The keeper doesn’t stop it they save it. When the ball doesn’t touch the ground before a shot it’s a volley. Those are league tables rather than cups which are knockout tournaments (although the game calls them cups so I’m not blaming you there). Give and go would commonly be know as a one-two. As I said love the content just trying to be helpful :)
I wonder if you'd like the Captain Tsubasa game on Steam, Drewski. It's a lot more bombastic and has some RPG mechanics, but it's a helluva game, especially if you're a fan of the series.

Man this takes me back, back to when fun and simplicity mattered in games, now all they care about is microtransactions and grind.

If you go to the top corner near midfield with a sidekick and power up all the way it unleashed the most overpowered shot ever, almost always a goal
Put hours into this game as a kid with friends. So much fun. The game really shines when you turn off power ups.

Mega Man Soccer was the game I remember having a blast playing with friends on Super Nintendo. The teams were more customizable.

If you wanna have some fun use the infinite items cheat together with the giant items cheat. It turns the field into a warzone XD
