What lovely makes you have! The woven ruffle top definitely looks better without the sleeves. Your bound neckline on the t shirt looks so neat. I especially like the crossover grey top too. You’ve inspired me!
I know this was posted awhile back. Is still summer ? Spain? Canada? Not sure. You are so real about sewing, fixing. made it work for you. So enjoy watching. Your choices are ststilish, comfortable. Thanks for sharing
Hi Lisa, thank you for a fab video!!!!!! You have given me my sewjo back, in fact I was on the cusp of quitting altogether. Am looking forward to future episodes of both your channels. Happy birthday for tomorrow!!!!
another solution to the pulling on the back of your shorts: Fuse strips of light weight interfacing, preferably knit, over the stressed seam (both sides) extending into the seam allowance. Then sew through all layers along the seamline, which may have to be a bit wider than original to avoid the stretched fabric. This should stabilize the fabric, hope it helps. Lovely collection for MMM!
Happy birthday 🎂 for tomorrow 🎈 I have an Instagram account and have only figured out once how to upload something .Lots of lovely makes again .Have decided to try the me made May .😁
Fusible interfacing will help. The shorter the stitch length the more stress on the fabric especially loosely woven fabric. I stitch everything between 3 or 4
visited "Sewing Bunny" loved her channel. I think we are about the same level of sewing and I enjoyed seeing her projects for March. Thanks for giving us all these TH-cam channels to check out. Loving it.
What a beautiful summer wardrobe. 😍 I was thinking that maybe you could wear the pinnacle top back to front. It may be too high on your neck though. Great idea to use the Vogue pattern for the jumpsuit🙆. Take care. Gabrielle
Hi Lisa! I was so enjoying watching this video and the previous one that I almost forgot to wish you happy birthday but is is still before midnight so I guess I’m just in time ;-) happy birthday 💐I hope that you’ve had a wonderful day! Thanks for these videos, now I just would like to buy a lot of linen fabrics and make myself a couple of dresses and tops you’ve made, they seem so comfy and fresh and yet so fancy and pretty! The perfect combo!
Nice Patterns and super fabrics; you have just the items you need for warmer weather,. It is so disappointing when you have made a garment that turns out too short or have sleeves too tight. I am wondering if you tissue fit your patterns or just hold your fabric against you too see if it works ? Wearable muslins are good but they would be much more wearable if you would check some things before sewing. Having just taken a top I had made from the bin, I wished I had checked the neckline that is too low.
Happy Birthday when it comes. I hope you have a beautiful day. I see you are all prepared for me made may. Everything is still on lock down here in Toronto, so all I feel like wearing is yoga pants. 🚶♀️😥
You reminded me about the Pinnacle top pattern by Papercut Patterns :) I completely forgot I have that pattern (yes that's either a comment re my memory or how many patterns I have tucked away :) probably both) I also forgot that the Pinnacle also works for wovens - I had it stored with my knit patterns. I have some very fine (READ: see through :) ) Italian linen and I've been pondering what pattern to use it for. It's a perfect cover-up thickness of linen for summer but I didn't want to make a kimono style cover-up with it. I think the Pinnacle might just fit what I had in mind. It's oversized - kimono style but a pull over so it doesn't have open sides that could annoying flap open in the wind (I hate that). You do have an amazing gift for knowing just the right partner of fabric to pattern :) Another great video and I love your dress that you're wearing by the way :)
Thanks, Kathleen-- you MUST make the Pinnacle in that Italian linen. I can see it now!!! That’s funny- I forgot the Pinnable can be made in knits! :):)
Great video! I really like seeing what other people make. I love the white striped denim blue top (great construction!!) with culotte. It looks so good on you! The bright coral/pink top is a beautiful color on you. Lately I have been researching color analyses and you seem a deep Winter to me (like I am). I think with your very dark hair and olive or beige colored skin, white and strong, saturated colors look the best on you. And lastly it seems like you have to make more knit tops for the summer. Saludos!
Re: shorts seams that are pulling. When you restitch them, consider reinforcing them somehow. I would do it with a leftover narrow ribbon. Put it over, and maybe under) the seam.
You may need to check your measurements of the hip or the sit/crouch. If you only do the measurements in a standing position this will give you a stress in the center back.
All those beautiful fabrics SWOON Great pieces x Melissa
Lovely spring/summer wardrobe. Enjoy your channel.
Thansk!

Thanks so much! I hope you’re getting some good sewing done, too!
And Sew On , I’m getting some sewing done in between online teaching but not as much as I’d like!
Don't you get the best sense of accomplishment when you go through all your makes? Very, very nice.
It’s the first time I’ve hung them all up like this- very satisfying!!

Hi Lisa, thank you for a fab video!!!!!! You have given me my sewjo back, in fact I was on the cusp of quitting altogether. Am looking forward to future episodes of both your channels. Happy birthday for tomorrow!!!!
Aw, I’m so glad you didn’t quit! Get to that sewing machine, and sew on! :):):)
Beautiful makes. I love the way you use the selvedge.
Thank you!
How lovely to have so many Me Mades!
The blue and white blouse is very nice too
Thank you! It’s a favourite.
Love the idea of using the selvedge for a hem! Have a good me made May!
You too!
Love that faux jumpsuit! I really like the way you pieced the fabric on the top, too. Very chic 👌
Thank you! It’s one of my proudest makes.
Love that top you're going to make sleeveless! I agree the ruffle is very nice!
Tablecloth kaftan is my absolute fav, it's divine
Thank you!
I'm inspired by your makes! Love your channel :)

Ah, that’s smart. I may do that!
Your sets are amazing! I love how sewing allows us to just reimagine pieces we have or have already made that we don’t wear often.
Thank you! They’re fun to do.
Happy birthday 🎂 for tomorrow 🎈 I have an Instagram account and have only figured out once how to upload something .Lots of lovely makes again .Have decided to try the me made May .😁
I’m glad! Me Made May is so much fun.
Happy Birthday Lisa🎉🎂. For the crotch seam on your pants, I like to use a triple stitch.
👍👍😉
Fusible interfacing will help. The shorter the stitch length the more stress on the fabric especially loosely woven fabric. I stitch everything between 3 or 4
I’ll definitely add some interfacing.thanks!
What a beautiful me made wardrobe! I didn’t realize you were from Toronto! Looks much warmer in Spain than here!
It’s beautifully warm. :):)
Hi sister!!! 😘😘😘 You have so many pieces!!!
Hilary Jaensch just a few. ;):)
Love the items you made. The 2nd top could use the slit in the back instead of the side. It could look intentional. The champagne color is beautiful.
Thank you! I ended up adding a edge to the side- you can see the changes in my latest video! 😘
I love the salvage look on the strip top! How unique.
It was just too pretty to cut off!
So cute! thanks for the encouragement. I haven't made a garment in a year. I've got to try some of the patterns you showed.
Go for it! I challenge you to pick a favourite piece of fabric and just make something!

You have so many handmade clothes! Everything looks good! Christine :D
They multiply! I swear! :):)

Maybe! I’ve never tried it that way!
The red linen looks beautiful on you !
Thank you!
Thanks for the info on 18 waites got some great fabric
Oh great! I’m jealous. Lol. What did you get???
Some olive green cotton and chambray

Happy Birthday to you!

Hi Lisa! Happy Birthday! You have beautiful wardrobe. I love your Charlie Caftan so much. What version did you make? Thank you!
Thanks! Version B, but I hacked it a bit in the front. :)

No, i never tissue fit. I kind of fit as I go. :)

Sew Sista Understandable! I’m sure it will start to loosen up soon!

Hi :) thank you for sharing:) happy bday! Hope you had a lovely bday day :)
Thank you! I did!
Re: shorts seams that are pulling. When you restitch them, consider reinforcing them somehow. I would do it with a leftover narrow ribbon. Put it over, and maybe under) the seam.
I just did them yesterday and am wearing them now! I put a strip of interfacing on either side of the seam. Worked like a charm!
Split hem at the center back of the cropped shirt could work too?
Yes, that’s also a possibility!
on the pants, reinforce seam w/ twill tape.
All gorgeous ❤️.. I particularly like the look of your pinnacle top and the hemp culottes 👌💖💖💖. Happy Birthday for tomorrow Lisa 🎂🎈🎉💐😁😘
Thank you, Sally! I think I’ll wear my culottes. :P
You may need to check your measurements of the hip or the sit/crouch. If you only do the measurements in a standing position this will give you a stress in the center back.
Could be! I do have two other versions of the same pattern, in the same size, and this is the only one that has that issue...
What are you wearing?
I’m wearing the Charlie Caftan I featured in the previous video!
And Sew On I can't believe I missed it. I'm pretty sure I wasn't notified. I'll check on it. Thanks
Just watched it! Love your dresses....
#coseryayuno
Time to sew for your daughters??
Yup, i do that, too. I made some Style Arc Shorts for Audrey last week, and a hat for Lily, plus they have summer pjs on the way. ;)
So your birthday is the first of May, that’s the same day as my mom, who was so incredibly talented.
Aw, that’s a nice coincidence. 😘😘
