when testing this type of transistors, make the base (the 1st leftmost pin if youre facing it) your common, not the middle pin which is the Collector, it's much easier.. for example , the red probe on the Base, then the black probe on the middle (Collector) and then on right pin ( Emitter).. and vice versa..

Capacitors in first then the transistors. Not the other way around. If capacitors are dead, some transistors might be grilled.
