When i lived in north korea i was good at ballet and i was asked to perform for the leader in 2000 year junbun 63, i was then asked to join a dance club dedicated to the leader but broke my leg, after just 2 weeks we was all paid very well 50 dollers a week one day there was famine and i fell asleep on this train track and woke up in the USA and realised i have never set foot in North korea and all this is pure garbage just as much as what comes out of miss park.
‘In order to live’ is an incredible book that will open your eyes and make you think twice about taking anything for granted. I have to say, I was captivated by the story and at times, had to remind myself I wasn’t reading fiction. One of the few books that really moved me and I see things differently.

No, it isn't "Rape Squads" - I understand what you're saying, but this is different - and in a way, even more horrifying. These girls go through a 'selection process' around middle school, selected by women and men for ones who will please the "Great Kim" - the ones selected undergo years of training (we don't even want to know), and then they become the personal sexual property of Kim and must do whatever he wishes under a system of punishments meant to keep them in line. These aren't "rape squads" because only Kim ever has sex with them - they are his property. I imagine the penalty for anyone not given permission to have sex with one of them is at least the loss of one family jewel - and may be more severe. It's sad, it's horrifying, it's legal, it's State-Sanctioned, and that's what makes it different - and in some ways even more terrifying than rape at the hands of a group of soldiers: this is a lifetime of sex slavery to one man, until you get a little old, slip up and displease him, or he simply tires of you. After they are used up - they are used for cleaning, labor, whatever degrading job there is to do. The exact horror of it, is that it ISN'T "Rape Squads" - it's legalized Sex Slavery, simply accepted as part of N. Korean life.

I've read a couple of books by N Koreans who've escaped, leaving their families behind. Very hard to read - very emotional. NK is far worse than anything your western mind can imagine. Country is run by sadistic evil barbarians.

When i lived in north korea i was good at ballet and i was asked to perform for the leader in 2000 year junbun 63, i was then asked to join a dance club dedicated to the leader but broke my leg, after just 2 weeks we was all paid very well 50 dollers a week one day there was famine and i fell asleep on this train track and woke up in the USA and realised i have never set foot in North korea and all this is pure garbage just as much as what comes out of miss park.
‘In order to live’ is an incredible book that will open your eyes and make you think twice about taking anything for granted. I have to say, I was captivated by the story and at times, had to remind myself I wasn’t reading fiction. One of the few books that really moved me and I see things differently.

No, it isn't "Rape Squads" - I understand what you're saying, but this is different - and in a way, even more horrifying. These girls go through a 'selection process' around middle school, selected by women and men for ones who will please the "Great Kim" - the ones selected undergo years of training (we don't even want to know), and then they become the personal sexual property of Kim and must do whatever he wishes under a system of punishments meant to keep them in line. These aren't "rape squads" because only Kim ever has sex with them - they are his property. I imagine the penalty for anyone not given permission to have sex with one of them is at least the loss of one family jewel - and may be more severe. It's sad, it's horrifying, it's legal, it's State-Sanctioned, and that's what makes it different - and in some ways even more terrifying than rape at the hands of a group of soldiers: this is a lifetime of sex slavery to one man, until you get a little old, slip up and displease him, or he simply tires of you. After they are used up - they are used for cleaning, labor, whatever degrading job there is to do. The exact horror of it, is that it ISN'T "Rape Squads" - it's legalized Sex Slavery, simply accepted as part of N. Korean life.

@@jpsholland I used to believe in god because I wanted hope and didn’t want to accept reality as I had a really bad childhood and my mom taught me to be Christian, after my mom died I stopped believing in god because nothing ever happened to help me, religion is just to give people hope and make them forget reality.

I've read a couple of books by N Koreans who've escaped, leaving their families behind. Very hard to read - very emotional. NK is far worse than anything your western mind can imagine. Country is run by sadistic evil barbarians.

Thousands and thousands of "Westerners" were brought by Dutch Slave ships from Africa, originally, , and sold to American plantations - where they were bred, like animals. Tens of thousands of Americans lined up - North and South - the North to end this slavery, the South to break away from the North and keep their slaves. Tens of thousands of men on both sides were crushed by cannon-balls, rolling through their ranks and tearing and crushing whole bodies or just legs as they rolled - propelled by the "Easterner" invention of gunpowder, but used for something far more lethal than the Easterners who used it as "range signals" - Westerners used it to propel huge rolling balls of steel and lead, and left nearly an entire generation mutilated, legless, burned, blind.... all to end the horror of slavery - of owning other human beings - and you think we cannot understand this?
